There is a discussion on the talk page about this already. Just because someone painted a rainbow on the floor doesn’t mean it’s a gayborhood. undo Tags: Manual revert Reverted Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit

As a life long Iowan, everyone knows there are no gayborhoods here. Gay bars, yes. But nothing like The Castro where mainly gay men live. The East Village does NOT mainly have a queer population. undo Tags: Manual revert Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit
  • curprev 05:2805:28, 1 June 202497.125.158.120 talk 77,753 bytes +535 →‎United States: It’s well-known that the East Village is Des Moines’ neighborhood, based on the Wikipedia definition: “A gay village, also known as a gayborhood, is a geographical area with generally recognized boundaries that is inhabited or frequented by many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBT) people.” Gay bars, businesses, people feeling comfortable and accepted. To put up a fight about this seems delusional and borderline homophobic. undo Tags: Reverted Mobile edit Mobile web edit

The reference used does not say the East Village is a "Gay Village," or "Gayborhood," therefore it has been removed. Furthermore, the East Village does not fulfill the description according to the page's definition. A discussion on the Talk page has been added titled "The East Village in Des Moines, Iowa is Not a Gay Village." undo Tag: Visual edit
