When convection is zero or if one assumes only conductive heat transfer, the numerator becomes zero. So, Nusselt number becomes zero. If we assume Nusselt number to hold, we should say that its value is zero when heat transfer is purely through conduction and no convection. The next line should read as "The value between zero and 10 is characteristic of slug or laminar flow." undo
