Furthermore, it creates confusion with the modern, newly and artificially created, Slav-macedonians who are not related in any way to the ancient Greeks (ancient Macedonians included). Ancient Macedonians were Greeks, therefore there is no need to separate them into Macedonians, Thessalians, Athenians, etc. unless we refer to one particular group of Greeks. undo

The verse was referring to the biblical phrase "רכב ברזל", litterally meaning "iron chariot" (transcript: rekhev barzel). This could mean that the chariots had iron plating or iron axcels, and not necessarily scythed axcels.
