Artificial Intelligence

Hi, I was looking at this article and not finding what I was wanting to find. I thought it would be better if in included a section about confirmation bias on the internet.

Youtube would be important in this discussion. If you watch a video of cats, youtube will show you more pictures of cats. If you have a bias in your cat videos towards cats jumping into pools, it will show more pictures of cats jumping into pools.

The last paragraph of the first section of the article mentions filter bubbles. This is good, but the topic of how the internet, social media and AI effect conformation bias. Have not really found any good sources yet.

Hopefully someone will find some soon and add this important new section to this article.

Thanks in advance. 2601:204:F000:A00:D465:73FF:FED2:2CD7 (talk) 19:51, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The social media subsection of the article (under "Real-world effects") has what you want, I think. I agree that YouTube augments confirmation bias, but I don't think your example is an example of confirmation bias. MartinPoulter (talk) 22:47, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
