Userboxes

I would suggest not worrying about userboxes and actually helping to write the encyclopedia. Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia, it's not free webspace. Userpages are a privilege afforded to people editing the encyclopedia. Looking over your contribs all I've seen you do is work on userboxes and your userpage. Hi,

That's fine- is there any subjects you're interested in? Because the best thing you can do is to jump right in and start editing articles that interest you- for instance, it could be a music related article.

Other things that might interest you is the behind-the-scenes work we can do- for instance, WP:AFD, WP:AIV, WP:TFD. AFD and TFD are deletion debates, and AIV is where you report continuos vandals, and all of those pages can always do with another contributor.

Probably the best way this is going to work is if you edit, and I offer you hints as you go along- you'll learn more that way.

I'm into a lot of alternative stuff, myself... but I've recently gotten into metal, so AFI, Parkway Drive, MCR, Bullet For My Valentine... are all fantastic. CattleGirl ^talk 03:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, I have always held an interest in Nintendo, Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy, and Billy & Mandy. Combating vandals would be great too, since I have something of a hatred for people who use the Internet to do stupid stuff.

And I can't stand bad grammar either. Copy-editing articles is fine with me too.

Well, there's plenty of articles that need a lot of work (grammar or otherwise :) ) than can be found by doing a couple of clicks on 'random article'.

If you want to combat vandalism, I'd suggest that first you'd have a look at WP:VANDALISM, and then have a look at some of the vandalism reversion tools that Lupin has made. They're linked from his userpage.

Otherwise, any of the pages you mentioned in your last reply, or perhaps you can have a look at backlogs.

Yeah, you're going pretty well! Just remember to fill in an edit summary :)

Minor edits- when you go into your preferences, and click on the "editing" tab, there's a lot of boxes there. Perhaps you have the "mark all edits minor by default" box checked? That's all I can think of.

Sorry for my random absence :S , but I'm back now.

You're doing really well! Your reversions are accurate, and you're warning the vandal in question every time, which is great :)

If you find a vandal is persistent, then don't forget that after they've gotten their final warning you can list them at WP:AIV, which always has eyes on it.
