Location
Charleston Southern is located right off of Exit 205B on I-26 in North Charleston, SC. Situated on 300 acres, formerly the site of a rice and indigo plantation, Charleston Southern University is in the center of the modern growth patterns of the Charleston metropolitan area. Mild winters and long summers allow many opportunities for outdoor recreation in a city which is famous for its gardens and plantations, miles of wide sandy beaches and major fine arts events, including the Spoleto Festival USA.
The campus is located less than 5 minutes from a waterpark, 20 minutes from downtown Charleston and 30 minutes from the beach. Right down the street is Rivers Avenue, which is filled with stores and restaurants, as well as Northwoods Mall. And right across the street is Trident Hospital, as well as several other private medical offices, giving students easy access to medical services should they need them.
