I took some pictures of the winter wonderland we have going right now. It's about 10 degrees outside, and it's that winter scene where thought it may be near 3am, I could easily read a book outside as the ambient light from all the snow is washing the town in a cold light! I'll upload them when I find my cord... :) Jmlk1709:54, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Woo hoo pictures! /me can't wait! I have some good pictures I took during a big snowstorm there in the early 90s, I should upload those sometime... lol. Ariel♥Gold21:18, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Landry List of questions
Hey, it's me again. I'm back with landry list of questions.
1) How do you add an 5-character indent to a paragraph without it putting a wierd dotted box around the text and puts all of the paragraph on one line? (note this is just for my userpage, as I figure that indents are not used in normal articles) I was trying to indent the first line in both of the paragraphs on my main userpage.
Use five colons (:) in front of what you wish to say. This sentence is indented five times. Ariel♥Gold
2) How do you put a border around certain cells of a table? I studied your main userpage and copied how you had done it around each of your sections. But on your page, it is a solid line. On my page (see the "Next Space Shuttle Mission" on my main page) there are spaces between some of the cells.
Yeah, you've got a lot of wonky (no offense) formatting on your userpage, I've looked at it before, and at first glance, didn't really figure out what you've done, lol. I can take a look, but I recall when I checked the code a few weeks ago, I figured you would need an entirely new design to fix the errors, I'm not sure what is causing them. Ariel♥Gold
LOL, wonky? That messed up? What should I do to fix it? I might try removing that section from the table, or creating a second table for that section. Rocketmaniac (talk) 00:24, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think a completely different layout would be best, to try to work with the code you have going on might be difficult. One of the issues is you have the images in their own boxes, and that causes some issues with the text on the left, but yeah the other issue is the box with the broken border, not sure what's up with that. I'd re-do your page to make it more like the main page layout, and place each element in its own section, (or something similar to that) to make it easier, if it were me. If you want me to work something up for you I can. Ariel♥Gold00:29, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I put each of the items towards the bottom in their own table. And it still looks dumb. Your page doesn't have sections, or at least the kind where you put the code ==example== in it, so how do you make it look so classie? I don't neccessary want you make me a userpage, I just want ideas or examples. Table(s) don't seem to be the answer. (I've learned all of HTML skills and now wikipedia skills by copying and changing other peoples codes) I'm graphically "challenged". (LOL, Please help me out before someone flags my userpage for deletion because it violates some appearance law) Rocketmaniac (talk) 02:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I purposely don't have edit sections. And, HTML doesn't really work the same here all the time, you'll have to code the page in .css for it to really look right, from what I've seen. While some HTML works, it does have some issues. Your table code for next shuttle mission, and for the ISS stats is off, and I'd have to re-do it the way I know how, to fix it, cause I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with yours, lol. I wouldn't mind, if you wanted me to, otherwise I guess you'll just have to play around with it, but as for "fixing it" I'm not sure I can, without re-doing the table completely, lol. (I know, I know, "then what good am I?" lol) Ariel♥Gold02:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
3) The South Carolina article has an external link to a very biased website. http://www.freescrepublic.com/ I have made the comment on the TALK page that this is not an appropriate link. I want to remove it, but somehow I feel I am going to start a "revert" war. Is there an "oversight" committee or something that will back me up if I delete it and a war starts?
I removed the link and posted on the article's talk page. That site was inappropriate, giving blatantly false information to readers unfamiliar with the U.S. ("South Carolina is an occupied country"), what rubbish. Also, it returns .dll fatal errors in both IE and Firefox for me, which is suspicious. Removed per WP:EL.
4) Last item isn't really a question. Remember a few weeks ago with I called you a Big-time admin? And you told me you were only an editor like myself? Well, I think I have solved this problem. Since you are not (at least at this time) an admin person, but since is it very easy to see that you are much more that a normal editor, I have created a userbox for you. Enjoy. Rocketmaniac (talk) 17:42, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL! Thank you dear. I love it! I still would say I'm not a "big time" anything, I'm just like you or anyone else, it is just that I've been here for over two years, that's all, hee hee. But thank you! That is wonderful, and I will find a place to put it. Ariel♥Gold
I added another area/section the the Template:South Carolina. The area/section is Unincorporated areas. I edited the template and used the other sections as an example. But now, the last section Topics is not showing up. The code is still there, it's just not visable. I know I am going to owe you a bunch. I'm going to bed before I $^^%$$$&&&^^% more stuff up. (If you can't get to it, or can fix it, I'll revert it myself in the morning) Rocketmaniac (talk) 03:24, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It has been fixed. I posted the question on the Help Desk and found out the it had to do with a limit set by the US State template. User:Patrick helped me out and edited the template and everything is a-o-k. (And while I was waiting for an answer on the help desk, I saw another question that I actually knew the answer and "I" answered it. My head is pretty big right now, need to fix a pin to get it back to normal size) Rocketmaniac (talk) 16:46, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Doh! Sorry I completely forgot to take a look at this! I'm glad it was taken care of, and congratulations for helping at Help Desk! I'm a regular helper there as well, and it is nice when you can help others, so it is okay to feel good about it Ariel♥Gold22:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Smile
Ryan Postlethwaite has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Happy editing! Smile at others by adding {{subst:Smile}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
Thank you very much for that. I do hope that you will realize what a great project this is, and that you'll help it grow, as we do always need more excellent editors! Ariel♥Gold04:29, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, you reverted an edit that accidentally re-instated previous vandalism, as seen in the difference between your edit. I did actually go through the history, and it seemed there were multiple unhelpful edits, so I reverted to an earlier version to remove them all. I'm sorry if you got caught in the middle of that. I'll remove the note I left on your talk page, and put this note there. Cheers! Ariel♥Gold06:16, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, oh my gosh, congratulations Nancy!!!! I'm so happy to hear that! That's the first article I've helped worked on significantly that has gotten to FA status! I see the icon in the corner! How awesome! Ariel♥Gold22:15, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help? urgh
If you can. :) I'm trying to get this IRC stuff all straightened out. I've downloaded Chatzilla for use with my beloved Firefox, and I need to set up an IRC nickname so that I can request a hostname cloak. The problem is that I can't make sense of any of this. Of course, once I master that, I have to figure out how to actually USE the thing. :P Do you have any tips? Suggestions? Would you like to point at me and laugh? Any of that would be welcome, even the pointing and laughing. I could use some humor. :D --Moonriddengirl(talk)20:13, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Look at the article Penis, and it says that every male has a penis. This information is highly sources. Now Gary Webster is a male, so that must mean he has a penis too. I'm a male too, and I have a penis too. You are a female, so that means you have a vagina, since every female has a vagina. That information is highly sourced too. Largesign (talk) 10:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm well aware of that, thank you. However, we do not add every single anatomical part to every single biography, now, do we? Is it appropriate to add "He has two legs, two arms, two eyes, a mouth, a nose, ten fingers, ten toes, two knees, etc., etc., etc., " to all biographies? Of course it is not appropriate. I have no doubt that you realize the inappropriateness of your edits, and will yet again, ask you to stop. (And lol Alison) Ariel♥Gold10:09, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
