Benjamin Foden (born 22 July 1985 in Chester) is a rugby union footballer who plays for Northampton Saints and England Sevens and has recently been named in the England Saxons team touring America and Canada during summer 2008.He has also been named in Martin Johnston's six nations squad 2009.

A further highlight of Ben's career has been playing for the Mighty Minnows Rugby 7s side. Ben and has recently earned his place back in the formidable side for the Bournemouth Sevens festival, where the team will be renamed the Nikey Minnows for one tournament only following kind sponsorship from Nike.

Ben Foden's early career has been divided between playing at scrum-half and fullback, though he can also operate on the wing. He was educated at Bishop Heber High School in Malpas, Cheshire before moving to Bromsgrove School in the Sixth Form. It is yet to be clear which position Foden will stick with during his career. Sale Sharks coach Philippe Saint-André saw him primarily as a full back, commenting after a strong performance from Foden against Newcastle Falcons, ""If he's not a full-back I'll eat my French beret; at full-back for England there is not a lot of competition. I think he deserves to go on tour with England – at full-back." [1] Despite these ringing words of endorsement from his coach, Foden's desire to play scrum half saw him sign for Northampton Saints on the basis of a promise to play him at his preferred position; a promise that Sale Sharks could not give him[2] considering his fantastic performances at fullback and the presence of England international scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth and the arrival of Welsh international Dwayne Peel for next season.

He was named in the England Elite Playing Squad for the Six Nations on January 14 2009, the only uncapped player in the squad.

Foden is currently dating Una Healy from girlband The Saturdays
