Polgooth (Cornish: Pollgoedh meaning "Goose Pond") is a village in south Cornwall, United Kingdom. It is situated two miles (3.5 km) south-west of St Austell.

Mines in the area around Polgooth mined and traded tin and copper since the Phoenician era.

Polgooth is the birthplace of geologist John Arthur Phillips FRS.[1]
