Tri-Cities is an appellation used to refer to several municipal areas, each of which consists mainly of three cities of roughly the same size and regional importance.

There are many such regions around the world, including the following:

United States

The Tri-Cities, Washington, consist of Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick, along the banks of the Columbia River

The Tri-Cities, Tennessee, Tennessee and Virginia, consist of the twin cities of Bristol, Tennessee/Bristol, Virginia, Kingsport, Tennessee, and Johnson City, Tennessee

The Research Triangle in North Carolina, consist of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill

The Piedmont Triad in North Carolina, consist of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point

The Tri-Cities (Michigan) in Michigan, consist of Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland in the Saginaw Valley

In Illinois and Iowa, three of the four Quad Cities – Moline and Rock Island in Illinois and Davenport in Iowa – were formerly known as the "Tri-Cities", before the inclusion of Bettendorf, Iowa

In Illinois, three far-western Chicago suburbs: St. Charles, Illinois, Geneva, Illinois, and Batavia, Illinois

The Capital District in New York, – Albany, Schenectady, and Troy – were once known as the "Tri-Cities."

In Colorado, the towns of Firestone, Frederick, and Dacono are known to locals as the "tri-towns" or "tri-town area"

In Nebraska, Grand Island, Nebraska Kearney, Nebraska, and Hastings, Nebraska in the south-central part of the state

Tri-Cities, Virginia, consist of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell in the Greater Richmond Region approximately 25 miles south of Richmond

The three oldest cities in Orange County, California: Anaheim, California, Orange, California, and Santa Ana, California.

In California, Chino Hills, Diamond Bar, and Brea, representing San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and Orange counties, respectively.

In California, Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista in northwest San Diego County.

The Tri-Cities of British Columbia, Canada, located east of Vancouver, are Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody.

The Tri-Cities of Ontario, Canada, located west of Toronto, are Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, Canada's Technology Triangle

Wuhan is a collection of the towns of Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang in the Hubei Province of China.

The Tricity (Polish: Trójmiasto) in Poland refers to the agglomeration of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot
