{{subst:rfp|Wiki607045|Long-time user; signed up to start helping the cause a bit. I'm a long-time music researcher/historian. Based on monitoring past "celebrity" Deaths on Wiki for years now, I believe the recent, 8/2/12 death of singer Jimmy Jones has been overlooked a bit. Jones had two massive, Top 3-peaking records on the Billboard Hot 100, "Handy Man" and "Good Timin'", both in 1960 (as stated on his current Wiki entry.) Very few artists, past or present, have twice achieved such a high level of national, mainstream Billboard chart success. As such, I propose that he qualifies as having sufficient success/notoriety, in his day, to be included among Wiki's "notable deaths" Many thanks for your kind consideration!

Not done - Please create an account. Cheers, Riley Huntley talk No talkback needed; I'll temporarily watch here. 20:26, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For the case you want to create a new article, please use our article wizard. mabdul 13:46, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
To make this a little more clear the software that runs Wikipedia MediaWiki will not allow the addition of user rights to IP addresses. Mlpearc (powwow) 14:28, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But IPs (not logged in user) can create articles through the wizard. ;-) mabdul 14:43, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But according to this request the IP doesn't want to create articles, but edit a semi-protected article. Armbrust, B.Ed. WrestleMania XXVIII The Undertaker 20–0 14:48, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, the place to send the editor is Wikipedia:Edit requests, which I will now do. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:12, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Wriekhathaar

My previous account "Schouten117" is no longer accessible due to me being unable to remember the password due to a period of no contribution and my email having been changed during that time meaning I can't recover my password. Because of this, I have had to start a new account which has limited privileges. I would be grateful if my account could be upgraded so that I can better update and correct Wikipedia entries. If possible, the mergeure of Schouten117 into Wriekhathaar would also be appreciated. Wriekhathaar (talk) 08:55, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Question: You gain autoconfirmed status tomorrow (depending on your timezone: the day after tomorrow), so why do you need to be confirmed now? mabdul 13:49, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: The user will become autoconfirmed at 13:28, 5 August 2012. Armbrust, B.Ed. WrestleMania XXVIII The Undertaker 20–0 13:56, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - Hi, and thank you for creating an account to edit Wikipedia. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, and then use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you're used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar policies. The good news is that fewer than 5% of Wikipedia articles are protected; this means that 95% of the articles can use your help right now!. Armbrust, B.Ed.
