Biography

Xuxa was born Maria da Graça Meneghel and "Xuxa" was originally a nickname given by her brother, which she legally added to her name in 1988. Her family moved to Rio de Janeiro when she was 7. Social Actions

In 1987, Xuxa has engaged in a campaign by the children against polio. More than 90% of Brazilian children were vaccinated. In two years of campaigning, the disease was eradicated Xuxa and received a medal from the hands of the then president, José Sarney.

Film career

Personal life

Xuxa age 49, revealed in an interview with Fantástico, who suffered sexual abuse in adolescence.
