Mao Zedong's wiki page

Hi, I am a college student writing a research paper on China's takeover of Tibet, so I came to Mao's page for some information but I don't see anything about Tibet on his page. I looked through the history of his page and noticed that you have edited the page couple of time. How come no one has written or mentioned anything about Tibet? I would do it myself but due to the security of the page I am not able to edit anything. Would you consider writing something about China's takeover of Tibet during Mao's regime? I know that there are people who reject Tibet as its own country but don't you think there should be at least something about Tibet? Hello, I'm not so familiar with the history of Tibet so I can't help you on this. My recent edits on Mao Zedong were actually about the actors who portrayed him in film and television, nothing more than that. Xinhua News headline translation

I wonder if you could cast an eye over this edit. I know very well the limitations of translation software, but the article titles in English are so radically different - "China Never Recognizes Japan's So-Called "De Facto Control" Over Diaoyu Islands Because It's Illegal", and the Google Translate - "Ministry of Foreign Affairs: has lodged solemn representations with the Japanese side of Japanese leaders' remarks" - that I am left with some concerns. You're welcome. I must say, you're very sharp to be able to spot the problem. I've seen some users who claim to be adding translated information from a non-English source but produce something completely different from the original source and hope that others will not spot the mistake. Do you have any Wiki editor that is fluent in Chinese instead of just using Google Translate? The sentence inside the article is: "Chinese: 日本对钓鱼岛的所谓“实际控制”是非法无效的，中方从未承认、决不接受。" You can first match the exact sentence in the news report to see whether it's there. Secondly, you can input it in Google translate to see whether I translated it faithfully. To save your job, I have already input it in Google Translate You can also input the Chinese or ask your Chinese friends around to see whether it's exact if you don't trust me. Thanks. I'll let Lonelydarksky answer for their competence at translation. Your contribution clearly misrepresented the article title. Further, editing restrictions per WP:SENKAKU have already been brought to your attention, not that it's made a blind bit of difference to your editing behaviour. I'll need to make my stand clear on this issue. Firstly, I'm not, and I won't be, involved in the dispute on the actual article. Secondly, I'm only assisting RashersTierney in translating Chinese text and helping him clarify any doubts he may have with regards to translation. From what I see in this edit, SummerRat has indeed misrepresented the headline (or title) of the Xinhua report. The following sentence '日本对钓鱼岛的所谓“实际控制”是非法无效的，中方从未承认、决不接受。' [Japan's so-called "actual control" over the Diaoyu Islands is illegal and void. China has never recognised (Japan's claim) and will not accept it.] is in the report but it is not the headline. Another way to interpret this problem, by assuming good faith, is that SummerRat might have been confused with the title and quote parameters in the cite web template. Hey, I felt the same way when CES planning 2008 The Legend of the Condor Heroes version, when the 2003 version was just released after 5 years back then. However, it turned out it wasn't that bad, they rewrote the story into something unexpected, turning Yang Kang more of a tragic anti-hero than the usual villainous role. However, from what I read from baidu, it said it will be faithful to the original story, which the 2006 version did. Can't imagine how the upcoming adaptation would work though, other than different cast members, even though Yang Mi is now rumored to have guest appearances. I think Jin Yong himself is also growing tired of answering requests from various companies to adapt his novels into TV series. From my point of view as a wuxia fan, the market is already overflooded and the quality of the adaptations just gets worse over time. Why don't these companies try adapting the works of other wuxia writers? I'm still waiting to watch a TV series based on Liang Yusheng's Baifa Monü Zhuan which is very faithful to the novel. The adaptations I've seen so far, especially the most recent TV series, either completely stray away from the novel in terms of storyline or are less than 50% based on the novel. I feel sorry for Liang Yusheng. The adaptations of Gu Long's works are slightly better but they don't seem as popular now as compared to decades ago. LDS _{contact me} 05:41, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure that I will see the upcoming adaptation though. As of now, I am working to get my master's degree in library and information studies in hope to become a librarian, hoping some day of helping the Chinese immigrants and American-born Chinese like me accessing Chinese materials. Have to save some cash, and if the upcoming adaptation is really faithful to the novel, then probably not worth my time since I can either read the novel or watch the 2006 version.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 05:56, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
