History

Over the course of its history, EMF has built up an extensive knowledge and experience base to complement its established market presence as a global leader in multimedia show productions, concepts and technology. EMF has continually strived to make uncomplicated and reliable Media Show Systems with logical modular designed for various applications.

Established in [[1]], Germany in 1984, Laserland’s original founders where Ralph Douw, Helmut Doerner, Robert Huber and Serge Douw. From its earliest beginnings Laserland strived to create fascinating and imaginative shows that encapsulate the audience. Such was the quality, class and innovativeness of Laserland’s productions that some of its earliest clients were high profile companies such as BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Siemens, Bosch, AEG, Microsoft, Pepsi-Cola and many more In 1990 EMF GmbH was formed, enabling the company to pursue international interests. As LL’s reputation grew, so did the scale of its productions, and the reach of its name. In 1992, LL’s shows in Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit dazzled world leaders at the United Nations Earth Summit. LL’s engineers worked to innovate and research new laser and multimedia technologies to enable more versatile and imaginative tools for the company’s show creators and designers, to produce with. 1996 saw the installation of a fully automatic laser show system on the new German cruise ship, the AIDA Cruises. Moreover, this event saw the birth of a fervent partnership between AIDA Cruise Lines and LL. Over the next decade, this relationship would grow, with LL systems being installed on 10 AIDA ships, and 2 further vessels under construction, this robust partnership can only grow stronger.

The turn of the century brought new changes in technology and international commerce. After a number of successful installations in addition to a string of stunning award winning shows in Europe, (including concerts with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Zeppelin Centennial Celebrations) interest arose in the Middle East and Asia, for LL’s excellence in concept development and productions. A number of colossal shows in Qatar and Bahrain followed, including a spectacular opening and closing ceremony for the World Squash Championships in Doha 2002. In Korea a large-scale multimedia fountain installation was completed in Kangwon Land, Korea’s leading casino. Including one of the world’s largest moveable screens set against a giant outdoor glass ‘magic cube’, the installation was hailed a stunning success. Coupled with a successful installation in Ulaanbaatar LL had gained a foothold in both the Middle Eastern and Asian markets. In 2003 a fully fledged subsidiary was formed in Athens, Greece. After several market establishing events, the following year saw LL’s participation in Athens 2004 Olympics Games, supporting golden sponsors Coke-Cola and Samsung with over 75 shows, throughout the course of the games. Testimony to the innovativeness and technological know-how within LL, a revolutionary product, the HoloPort® was completed in the pioneering Future scope Film park in Changchun, China in late 2004. In 2005 LL further established itself as a world leader, with a spectacular state of the art multimedia installation in Hyderabad, India. Additionally, the Holoport® technology was installed in the ultra-modern Beijing Capital Museum in 2005. The installation takes its place amongst other cutting-edge modern multimedia displays, and enthralls guests with a unique demonstration. LL’s show production team continues to produce ground-breaking, fascinating shows. The strong partnership between LL and BMW has blossomed with a number of events, including simultaneous Germany-wide launches for BMW 1-Series and 3-Series automobiles. Demonstrating its stretch over all media forms, LL developed the centerpiece of the Chiang Mai Night Safari Park, Northern Thailand, in 2006. Featuring a floating platform of water fountains, and water screen, coupled with light, laser, video and sound, the installation delights guests every night. Laserland GmbH rebranded to "Emotion Media Factory GmbH" beginning 2008. Laser was only one part of the core business of "Multimedia" now. In South Korea, 2006, EMF was commissioned to install a massive outdoor entertainment installation. The installation, which was a three-phase project over the years 2006, 2007 and 2008, features one of the largest fountain multimedia installations in Korea, including water fountains, fire, laser, light, video, sound, all harmoniously synchronized performing to guests and visitors each night.

Since the company started it has produced and performed thousands of spectacular laser multimedia shows and installed a vast number of permanent shows and systems around the globe.

Europapark "creative team" created the story and designed the interior design for the library. Emotion Media Factory's task was to use the HoloPort® for production of a virtual 3D world with high-resolution character animation and 3D still images to project also parts of the interior. A further highlight in the theater is the live integration of visitors in the show. Some selected persons can see themselves as Giant, a King, or an witch in the movie.

In 2011 Emotion Media Factory completes Europe’s largest floating fountain system in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia for the Roshen Confectionery Group.[7]

Roshen Confectionery, the multinational confectionery manufacturer, has given the inhabitants of the city of Vinnytsia an amazing amusement - Europe’s largest floating multimedia fountain system. Since the beginning of September the citizens of Vinnytsia have been able to stare in astonishment daily at the extraordinary fountains of the multimedia fountain system at Pivdenny Buh Quay on a branch of the River Bug. [8]

Within a very short space of time this fascinating spectacle has become known beyond the borders of the Ukraine and attracts over 20,000 visitors to the city each week. Each evening a 25-minute-long thrilling story is told featuring water, music, laser, light and colours. It claims to be a show for young and old which can be understood without language and which arouses the feelings of the spectators.

Coloured fountains of water spout up to 70 m up into the sky. A 50 m wide and 18 m high screen of water acts as the projection surface for the story which has been composed and produced by Emotion Media Factory. High-performance video systems project seemingly three-dimensional images in brilliant colours onto the water screen with a power of 30,000 A-L.

Emotion Media Factory realized the entire project from the initial sketches to planning, concept, delivery, installation, show production and start-up in just nine months. The synchronisation and programming of the controls of the complex water jets as well as light, laser, multichannel sound and soft edge projection were carried out using two media engines and Wings Platinum. The different shows can be started by staff using the easy-to-handle ISEO surface of a touch panel.

Awards

Emotion Media Factory has received award “The Best Building and Construction” of the year 2012 for their project of Multimedia Fountain Roshen [9]
