Dear DerbyCountyInNZ,

I would like to know why you keep deleting my edits, especially the ones for Violet Brown. Although you claim my edits are not constructive enough, I personally find no faults, especially when I simply edit Violets birthplace from Jamaica to the Colony of Jamaica. It is indeed a fact that Brown was born in the year 1900, with Jamaica only gaining independence from the UK in about 1962. It is also a fact that Violet was born a year before Queen Victoria's death and consequently the end of Victoria's 64 year reign as the monarch of Great Britian and colonies. With this information, we can conquer Violet is the last living former subject of Queen Victoria, with nobody else born in the UK or a UK colony before Victoria's death in January 1901, so please stop deleting my edits.

Thank You, Crimson&Clover71

Because everything you've added is original research, not to mention trivial fanfluff. Unless you can find a reliable source which has a statement which supports what you added it does not belong in Wikipedia. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 18:20, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Swimming New Zealand requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from swimming.org.nz/about-us.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

A tag has been placed on Swimming New Zealand requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

2015 edits

Dear you have reverted my edits 2015 Pakistani heat wave and 2015 Indian heat wave to 2015 so I want to tell you that these are also events of 2015 in which hundreeds of people died of heat stroke in Karachi as well as in India. So if it meets the event touchstone of 2015 kindly include it.--Jogi don (talk) 04:24, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2015 is for internationally notable events. Those events have no impact outside Pakistan/India and therefore do not qualify for inclusion. If you feel that they should be included you need to start a discussion at Talk:2015. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:38, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks dear DerbyCountyinNZ, I have discussed above events at Talk:2015.--Jogi don (talk) 08:35, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Scammell Pioneer revert

Dear User DerbyCountyinNZ: You are an experienced editor with over 20,000 edits and some eight years of editing here at Wikipedia. You surely know better than to brusquely revert an edit like you did mine at the Scammell Pioneer page, "No improvement". It was a lousy passage and my edit - which did not go far enough - was at least an effort to untangle it. All an approach like that taken in summarily reverting it does it set up an edit war; I don't need to quote Wikipedia chapter and verse on its injunction to editors to "Be Bold", etc., etc. I was hardly bold, but the effort was not without merit. If you didn't like it, feel free to improve it, not summarily revert.

That you subsequently did is welcome, and indeed headed off unpleasantness. The truth is, that run-on sentence still needs help - beyond fixing a minor spelling error in your edit I corrected. Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 10:40, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The only potential for unpleasantness is you bringing a minor issue to my talk page and raising the (remote) possibility of an edit war! If you'd merely fixed my typo I'd have probably thanked you for your edit. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 10:59, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Minor to you, not to me. Following form with your above response. My note to you being merely a reminder of showing proper respect for other Wikipedia editors (WP Civility, Good Faith, all that).
On a hunch I decided to look further into the Pioneer page's history and discovered you were the page's original author. First, a thanks for making that effort, as the Pioneer and its history deserve to be recognized and are a welcome addition to the encyclopedia. Second, an apology, if in fact the passage edited - and criticized - was yours somewhere along the line; certainly no personal aspersion was meant. Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 11:39, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Scammell Pioneer question

Greetings, User:DerbyCountyin NZ. Do you know if the Scammell Pioneer was adapted as a ballast tractor in military service? This image of a purpose-built Scammell postwar ballast tractor looks suspiciously like something that may have evolved from a Pioneer, whether by Scammell or Pickfords:

Scammell ballast tractor pulling specialist trailer at a fair

Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 02:09, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This looks like a Scammell Constructor, built in the 1950s. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 02:23, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. You nailed it. Do you know if they were made as ballast tractors? What about the Pioneer? Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 10:45, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like both were, Pioneer, Constructor. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 07:40, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the concrete block on the back of that Pioneer certainly screams "ballast tractor". But was it original? Certainly the Pioneer was used as an artillery tractor in addition to tank transporter and recovery vehicle, but was it actually produced by Scammell as a dedicated ballast tractor? If so, it should be mentioned and cited in its article.

As for the Constructor, one gets the impression from its general look and telltale front pintle hitch on many that it was produced as a ballast tractor. That's why I found the original caption for a Wikipedia image of one describing it as a "purpose built" ballast tractor a bit off. Perhaps customized somehow by Pickfords, but that is another thing.

Shame there is not more on it around, and only the one-word mention at the Scammell article. There's a remarkable picture of one at work as a ballast tractor here, with the caption "(Above) This shot gives you some idea of just what a Constructor was capable of pulling!". Some machine. Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 16:40, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Derby, would you mind watching this article for a few days? I have already reverted an IP 3 times for introducing inadequately source material and although it is a BLP violation, I don't want to go over 3. I'm also going to be traveling for a few days. Thanks. --I am One of Many (talk) 23:11, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have this on my watchlist. You were correct to revert the information that was added to the infobox, as you said there were no strong ties to American Indians. I have modified the entry in the text to indicate that it is the word of the family that she has American Indian heritage. To quote a "newspaper article that quotes Robert Young who quotes a book written by the family"that says she is part American Indian is not the same as "she is part American Indian". This is too much of a stretch for WP:RS. I am also suspicious of anonymous IPs who refuse to create accounts, clearly have Wiki experience before the use of the current IP, and like to throw inappropriate vandalism accusations around. If I had further evidence I might start a SOCK investigation. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 08:31, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

She don't died, she became a limbo, you can see in the GRG page, we don't have any news from her since 14 of september 2014...We all hope than she still alive, I call her nursing home and we don't have news, but the nurse girl thinks than she passed away, but we don't find any obituary, so tomorrow I will call again to check the medical records. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coyote7798 (talkcontribs) 04:30, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible sockpuppet of blocked user

Hi there, I'm suspicious about these two IP's, since both have made no edits other than to Talk:List of oldest living people and are both aggressively pushing to remove anonymous entries from the list of oldest living people (despite being verified). I'm wondering if they are the same person as this who was recently blocked. Just thought I'd point this out to you as I'm not sure what the best course of action for me to take is. -- Ollie231213 (talk), 23:34, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have wondered about that too. IP 68 is from New Jersey and both IP 208 and 184 are from Indiana. I'd say the latter would probably be worth a Sockpuppet investigation. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:09, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2015 and 2012

Derby could you please remove the Russian prime minister from the examples and replace him with James Horner because I don't think he or Chris squire should be put to the wayside for boring Russian politician also can I add a Whitney Houston photo to the Feb deaths of 2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.77.35.81 (talk) 19:31, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Images are included to reflect a balance of occupations. There are usually too many entertainers, I see no need to make any changes. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:04, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for the addition of Bobbi Kristina Brown to the 2015 page, I hadn't seen the note regarding her addition. Wildthing61476 (talk) 18:01, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalisme

Du vinder. Det ser ud til at du slipper godt fra dine WP:DISRUPT uden WP:CON. Denne form for ødelæggende aktiviteter går desværre ud over Wikipedia som helhed. Men at du tillader dig at kalde editeringer, som gendanner dine sletninger, for vandalisme er direkte smagløst. Enhver modstand bliver WP:BULLY, WP:HARASS og WP:THREAT væk.
