The 12 Metre World Championships are international sailing regattas in the 12 Metre class organized by the International Sailing Federation and the International Twelve Metre Association.[1]
The yachts are divided into five different divisions depending on design and year of construction.
The 12 Metre was an Olympic class from 1908 to 1920 and used in the America's Cup between 1958 and 1987.
History
The first 6 Metre World Championships were held in Brighton in 1979.[2]
