Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, better known by his stage name Badshah,[1][2] is an Indian rapper known for his Punjabi and Hindi songs. He has performed with Yo Yo Honey Singh with whom he launched his first track in 2006,[3] His music has been featured in Bollywood soundtracks for films such as the 2014 film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.[4] and Sonam Kapoor starrer Khoobsurat(2014).[5] He has also collaborated with artists such as Gippy Grewal,[6] Diljeet Dosanjh, Manj Musik, Raftaar and Aastha Gill among others. His track "DJ Waley Babu" received 7.1 million views within a month of its release on YouTube .Latest Album "Bakee batein PEENE bad". Badshah is one of rising rapper of India who got over 10 Million plays within the first month of his release of "Wakhra Swag" on the largest community of [musicians], EarPixels.[7]
Early life
Badshah was born into a Punjabi family in Delhi. His father is from Haryana and in his own words, "I have a lot of Haryana in me".[8]
He did his schooling from Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, Delhi where he used to perform on his school choir.[9] Prior to becoming a full-time musician he received education to become a civil engineer from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh during which he was exposed to new Punjabi music and has stated that if he had not become a rapper, he would "have been an IAS officer." [10][11][12]
