Re:Jose image

So, does it have to be deleted, or is there anything I can do to save it? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 15:27, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I ask the person if it's ok for them to be on mirror sites? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 15:30, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ACE

Why don't you help me out about contributing to the ACEs in the season articles??? I know that YOU contribute to this, from your recent edit. RaNdOm26 08:51, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am glad to talk with you about this entry. The major idea i wrote the international response is to rose the righteousness of people. When the Hurricane Katrina took place, nearly all the countries offered to aid the Americans. Comparing with the more poor chinese, they received nothing, I didn't see any reports which give a mere little commiseration. It is so strange to see the far more happier americans receive much more attention and helps than the much poorer chinese who deserved more aids. Ksyrie 13:39, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, I am not a Wikipedia:Administrators ni a fluent english speaker. What i want is just to add something to wiki.I know there must be some rules, but if you think my edition violate somethings, you can just modify it to make it meet the standard in stead of deleting.Ksyrie 13:52, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:WP:POINT

Oh... man, i'm really sorry. I'll take it off. And I'll keep thoughts like that to myself. Sorry again. I fell bad now...→Cyclone1 21:05, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: ALRIGHT! threat

Alright, since you went on my talk page and threatened expulsion from wikipedia. What can I do to undo the damage? guitarhero777777 02:16, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the warning and how to help me out. The strong language wasn't going to be going on much longer, but I needed the heads up for next time. guitarhero777777 02:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No Gun Ri

Sorry, I fail to see the applicability the NPOV policy here. The event is called so. Please use google. Please note also that "No Gun Ri tragedy" is not used nowhere in internet besides wikipedia snd mirrors. But please also notice that I do not suggest renaming the article. I understand it was eventually tragedy. Mukadderat 03:27, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hurricane Hector Track Map

What's the issue with a track map for active hurricanes? I don't see an issue and I've put up the track maps in the past for active hurricanes. Reub2000 04:35, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Stop!

Okay. Thanks for the heads up. How did you find out I was making them so quickly; am I in your watchlist or something? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 15:07, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hurricane geolinks

My edit summary on 2005 Pacific hurricane season got truncated. What I've done is split the redirect links into separate ones for the cities and the states, so no more redirects. But indicating the state along with the city is good and useful information, and should be included. Can you be happy with that? Bolivian Unicyclist 01:13, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, that's better. – Chacor 01:14, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to have worked that out, then. Meanwhile, please hold back on reverting me on the other annual seasonal articles, and I'll go through them and fix the redirects there, too. Bolivian Unicyclist 01:19, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A block from June

A user you blocked in June, User:OzWrestlemaniac has returned as User:3 Brands and has been reported to my talk page. Please see the discussion there, and tell me what you think, perhaps another block is in order, I still haven't read the diff you provided in the block summary, as the page it links to has been deleted. If you are still familiar with the case, that would help. Regards, DVD+ R/W 05:09, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Updated DYK query On 22 August, 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Hurricane Kyle (2002), which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Happy to! Nice article; I read it when I was putting up some DYK noms earlier. Cheers -- Samir धर्म 10:54, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tropical Storm Chris on deletion review

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Tropical Storm Chris. Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, your reasons on how or why you did so will be greatly appreciated in the above review. Hello32020 17:51, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hurricane Katrina REVERT

26-Aug-2006: Hello, Chacor. Your "FLAT REVERT" of my careful, sourced additions struck me as rude, and frankly, vicious, cut-throat and ruthless. Who are you? Oh, BTW, you didn't even introduce yourself to me. That's very, very rude. As for your reaction, calling "substantial" as more neutral, I will remind you that the sources used the term "pure devastation" (quote) which was re-phrased as merely "substantial" in the article.

Before reverting any more changes, please consider each change made, and then discuss with me, and if I disagree, seek a broader concensus, as to which changes should be altered. Do not vandalize my contributions. Thank you, and please respond. -Wikid77 12:46, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Emilia

I'd like to point out that 1994's Hurricane Emilia was not a Category 5 hurricane. Both the preliminary "Best Track" and the "official" best track both show Emilia peaking at 135 knots. The NHC's Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale page says, "Category Five Hurricane: Winds greater than 155 mph (135 kt or 249 km/hr)." (both my emphasis). Finally, the report for 2000's Hurricane Carlotta says in its abstract at the top that "Carlotta was a category 4 hurricane (on the Saffir-Simpson scale)". That report also indicates Carlotta, a Category 4 hurricane, peaking at 135 knots at 21/0600 and 21 / 1200. Thus, a hurricane peaking at 135 knots is a Category 4 hurricane, not a Category 5. As Emilia is shown in the best tracks to be peaking at 135 knots, I can't call it a Category 5. I don't know why the CPHC says Emilia was a Category 5 because it wasn't. My best guess is that it was downgraded in post analysis. I'm just telling you this so you don't try and revert me or add it back or anything. I'll also be posting this to Talk:List of Category 5 Pacific hurricanes. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 22:38, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re.:Storm

No adverts here. Hate Spam too. I was directly hit by Hurricane Rita last year (was a 90mph storm then), the links were intended as a source, not spam. Appreciate the reminder. The reason I had mentioned the storm on the Signpost suggestion terminal is that if this thing hits Florida, it could destroy the servers there, and that would definately affect Wikipedia by losing 1/3 of its servers. Martial Law 05:51, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does Wikipedia have any plans, should the Florida servers get hit. I was taught to be prepared, I was a military brat, USAF, US ARMY. The latest I've seen on it was that it may turn to the northeast after it gets in the Gulf Of Mexico, and it may hit Alabama or Florida. Seen the map myself. Again, I do appreciate the reminder. Martial Law 06:03, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Latest track data has it making a direct hit on Tampa, Florida. This thing will definately take down the servers. This will definately affect Wikipedia, thus is why I had reported the storm to the Spotlight Newsroom. Try conducting business with 1/3 of the servers damaged or destroyed by this storm. Martial Law 02:26, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've been listening to the news, incl. FOX News. You ought to see and hear what the news personnel are saying, Same with the Weather Channel. They show it on the news and make dire predictions as to what it'll do and where at. Appreciate the reminder. Why is the news outlets NOT like Wikipedia ? As of respnding to this, they're showing this thing on the news right now. FOX News has it now hitting all of Florida. Martial Law 02:35, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

10 min mean

I'm not being US centric, I'm being realistic. 90 percent of the people who read those figures are going to get the wrong impression of the storm's strength. Let's be realistic here. This is article is in English. How many Asians are going to be reading the English version of Wikipedia looking for information? Not many. The information in an article should be geared towards its audience, not to however things are done in the region about which the article is written. -- §HurricaneERIC§ archive 04:38, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Katrina Revert

May I ask where the content I posted in the Katrina article regarding the media biase of looting is covered in the sub article? I still do not see it which is why I felt it was necessary to cover? GodBwithU 02:13, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a link for the MIRC? Hurricanehink (talk) 03:21, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but that's alright. I'm not in the downloading mood. My roommate just downloaded something (didn't tell me) and now his computer is fried to a virus. I know, it's probably safe, but I'll pass on this one... Geez that sounded like you were offering to sell me drugs :P Give everyone my regards on there. Katrina International Response

May I ask where the international criticism has been talked about in any of the katrina subarticles? Again, there is so much info coming to light since the 1 year anniversary, I don't know why so much is being deleted? GodBwithU 03:15, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Thanks!

Thank you very much for your comments on my recent Request for Adminship. The request was ultimately unsuccessful - which wasn't entirely surprising - and so I'll be taking special care to address the concerns that were raised before running again.

I'm anxious to improve my work generally, even if it doesn't result in a future adminship, and so please don't hesitate to leave any further feedback or comments at my talk page. Thanks!

This case has closed and the final decision has been published at the link above.

To summarise, Añoranza is banned for one week and the principals in this matter are encouraged to enter into good faith negotiations regarding use of propagandistic operational codenames for which there are neutral alternative names in common use.

Signpost

Thanks for offering to help. If you think there's a story that could be written about something wiki-related, just write up a few paragraphs and submit them in the newsroom. Deadline is Monday at 17:00 UTC; let me know if you have any questions. Ral315 (talk) 13:27, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hurricane Danny (2003)

Hi, thanks for the advice. If I can find more information on Danny, I'll copy the article into userspace (though since it was a forgettable fish-spinner, it's going to be pretty hard). Also, I'm not entirely sure about it being the furthest north a hurricane has formed in July: I've only checked back as far as 1965.

Oh, and thanks for the John reply. :) Pobbie Rarr 20:05, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brush

This is my first time actually looking at the foon articles so I don't know what rules y'all have. So noted. --Golbez 11:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The lurid prose is virtually gone, basic references are added, and most of the non-Florida information was removed. This article has needed cleaning up for months. Thegreatdr 12:50, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
