:Thanks for expanding these {{ping|Huldra}}. Just nominated them, but I'm not too confident about the hook. If you think of any alternatives, let me know. Cheers --[[User:Al Ameer son|Al Ameer]] ([[User talk:Al Ameer son|talk]]) 23:55, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Philip the Arab

According to Bowersock, Roman Arabia, p.122 : "Philip was an Arab from the city Shahbaa, at the edge of the Leja's near the western slopes of the Jebel Druuz"

And the Wiki article claims that the Syrian emperor was called "Arab" because he was born in the Roman province only. Irfan Shahid also supports that the man was of Arabian background. (and some others)GoulGoul1 (talk) 21:13, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Battle of Khazir you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. 2 DYKs??

Ni'ilya and Al-Sawafir al-Gharbiyya both qualifies as DYKs presently, however, they both still have the Coord missing...If you could fix that, and possibly nominate them, it would be great. Say, "Did you know.... that the depopulated Palestinian villages of Ni'ilya and Al-Sawafir al-Gharbiyya both were mentioned in the 1596 Ottoman dafter?" Huldra (talk) 22:08, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for expanding these @Huldra:. Just nominated them, but I'm not too confident about the hook. If you think of any alternatives, let me know. Cheers --Al Ameer (talk) 23:55, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
