== Image size and WP:IDHT == |

The policy/guideline/MOS does not say what you claim it says. Please reread it. Also read WP:BRD and WP:3RR and take it to the talk-page. I see no reason whatsoever to fix image sizes. Kleuske (talk) 15:29, 2 August 2017 (UTC) |

::Hi Kleuske, the policies state "As a general rule, images should not be set to a larger fixed width than 220px (the initial base width)" and "Except with very good reason, do not use px (e.g. thumb|300px), which forces a fixed image width", may I have examples of such reasons? Because as far as I know, lead images such as La civilització del califat de Còrdova en temps d'Abd-al-Rahman III.jpg and Granada's sunset.jpg are an "exception to this general rule". :::You think so, three other editors thought otherwise. Different screens have different resolutions. By fixing image width, you are making it less impossible for browsers to adapt to different screen-sizes. Kleuske (talk) 11:15, 3 August 2017 (UTC) |

Setting particular sizes creates formatting problems on some screens and for some user bases (see MOS:IMGSIZE). Where an article has many images and not enough text, large images can overwhelm or squeeze surrounding text. Generally whether a larger or smaller size is warranted is decided locally by consensus. So you would need to convince others there is a "very good reason" for larger images. The Al-Andalus article has a glut of images and not enough text. Many sections have more than one image even though they are just a few paragraphs, giving it a cluttered look even with default sizes. The article needs further development of the content at this point, not more or larger images. Hello. Please can you let me know why you reverted my edit to Alhabra that migrated the infobox to Wikidata? Was there a problem with how the new infobox was being displayed? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:17, 7 August 2017 (UTC) |
