DC election results

You seem to be the one who added most of the election history for DC politicians, so I thought I'd let you know that Gogo Dodo wants to delete that section from the Carol Schwartz article, saying it's too much data and doesn't add to it. I tend to agree that the election results clutter the articles, but I think they are valuable, especially when some of the articles haven't progressed to the point of covering all the elections. I'm wondering whether they should be handled differently, maybe even in separate election articles, and probably with tables. —KCinDC (talk) 02:24, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

none of the proquest links work for people without your library userid. Frietjes (talk) 15:32, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. WP:SOURCEACCESS. ~ Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 22:10, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
can you at least link to the generic proquest search, rather than your library? Frietjes (talk) 22:51, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

plse use edit summaries!

Information icon Hey, i know youve been around for a while, if you could be so kind, can you toss in a small edit summary when you edit? I have nothing against your 17 edits on the 501c page today , which I contribute to too, and I thanked you for them, but an edit summary would facilitate working through my watch list a lot. It's a simple form of paying respect to others... --Wuerzele (talk) 23:38, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, Wuerzele. It's a bad habit of mine. I'll try to do better. ~ Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 23:52, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Another user created an article on the same subject less than a day after you did. I think your title works better, but the content of the other article is more thorough and includes a lot of sources. Would you be opposed to keeping the content of his article to avoid redundant pages or did you want to try another route? Thanks! APK whisper in my ear 19:30, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I'll take the liberty of merging the two pages, retaining the title Robert White (Washington, D.C. politician). ~ Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 19:53, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate very much the details you have added to Nevertheless, she persisted. Thanks for correcting the copy and making the account on the Senate floor more accurate—details matter, and your contributions make the article better. FYI, the text of the AHCA currently found on the congress.gov page to which you added a link is still the March 20 version, not the version that passed. See the edit I just made, which adds links to all the various parts of the bill (there still being no official copy of the fully amended version). Birdfern (talk) 03:51, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch. Thank you, Birdfern. ~ Quacks Like a Duck (talk) 12:07, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Quackslikeaduck. It's easy to add attribution when copying from public domain sources: simply add the template {{PD-notice}} after your citation. I have done one in the above article. Please do this in the future so that our readers will be aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:39, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
