Maria del Mar del Castillo[2] (Spanish: [maˈɾi.a ðel ˈmaɾ ðel kasˈtiʝo]; born 1964) is a Canadian television actress.

Biography

She was born in Madrid, Spain, and grew up in Ottawa, Ontario.[2] She made her acting debut in the episode of Disney Sunday Movie The Liberators in 1987.[1]

She graduated from Nepean High School in Ottawa[1] and attended Carleton University in the same city.[2]

Maria del Mar played in recurring roles on series like Street Legal,[3] TekWar, Mercy Point, Relativity, Blue Murder,[3] Terminal City and Murdoch Mysteries.

Splits time between Los Angeles and Toronto.[2]

She was married to screenwriter Guy Mullally, who met on the set of Street Legal. The marriage had two children, a girl named Paloma and a boy named Gabriel.[2][4] The couple has divorced.[2]

Her performance in A Touch of Grey (2009) earned her a Canadian Comedy Award in the 13th ceremony for the best female performance in a feature[5] and nominated in 2001 to Gemini Award in the 16th edition for best performance by an actress in a continuing leading dramatic role for Blue Murder.[4]
