Your GA nomination of Josh fight

The article Josh fight you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Josh fight for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. List of Warriors

Hi, I found the discussion regarding your request to delete the list of Warrior cats on my first attempt to learn more about Wikipedia policies. I consider myself a relatively new editor with barely 100 edits and I am not sure what I want to do about this - much less how to go about it.

Having read several of the Warrior books many years ago (to keep up with my kids who were reading them) I was surprised at the low quality of the list you proposed to delete. Notable characters from the series like Firestar, Tigerstar and Bluestar that probably qualify for their own article just as much as "Severus Snape" does are hardly described. Their notability is not supported even though they are the basis for internet memes.

I agree with your original sentiment that the list should be deleted. I found a much better list on a dedicated Warriors Wiki and added it to the main article as and External link. I believe that the existence of that link obviates the need for the poorly maintained Wikipedia list that you proposed to delete.

I understand that you withdrew the request and started a meta discussion about lists. One of the considerations that matter to me is that leaving the list there encourages squandering volunteer resources on an inferior text when they could be better used to update and maintain a sister Wiki that does a much better job of covering the subject.

I am not sure how to express my subjective feeling that the list should be deleted or what the appropriate forum might be for discussing it. I would appreciate any suggestions. Annette Maon (talk) 17:08, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Annette Maon: this is an interesting question. The next step I planned was to start a formal discussion aimed at changing some of these policies, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I want to be sure to get the wording right and make sure it's likely to get support. In general, I agree that this kind of content belongs on dedicated fandom Wikis, not Wikipedia. Thanks for your comments and I'd love to keep hearing from you as this process moves forward. Ganesha811 (talk) 12:15, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nice article

Hi Ganesha811. I wanted to apologize personally for not replying soon enough to your interview request. I simply got too busy in RL. That said, I'm happy you wrote about WP:RANPP. Being the first name on the list of patrollers I can tell you that I started that page but I did not create the patrol itself. I'm also glad to say I still enjoy hopping randomly from page to page hoping I come across something interesting or something to fix. ;) -- œ 06:36, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@OlEnglish: that's no problem! Very understandable. I hope the article brings the project a little more attention - and given your answer, I'm curious to try to find out when the patrol began, so I may have to go trawling further back into old pages to see what I can find out. I'm a random page patroller too - it is just a lot of fun. Happy editing! Ganesha811 (talk) 11:02, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ganesha811, I wanted to inquire as to whether you might wish to return to this review now that the quotes issues has been dealt with, or if you still prefer that another reviewer take over. If you wish another reviewer, then since the call for a second opinion hasn't had satisfactory results after a long time, I plan to put the nomination back into the unreviewed pool of nominations with no loss of seniority—that procedure has generally worked much better with older nominations, and this would be in the top five of unreviewed nominations in that case.

Please let me know your plans. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:51, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
