New page reviewer

Hi! I'm Dswitz10734, and extended confirmed editor here. I would like a trial period for this position because I like developing new pages and adding content to Wikipedia. I'd like to try something new and have had my eye on this position for a while now. I'd love the opportunity to help new pages and editors grow here on Wikipedia. I hope to hear from you soon! There appear to be some neutrality issues around some of your edits, as evidenced by several messages on your talk page. Note, maintaining a neutral point of view is a fundamental principle of wikipedia and you appear to have problems adhering to this, which is problematic for NPP. Neutrality issues aside, I'm concerned by a weak AfD record, particularly !votes which suggest that Dswitz10734 did not actually read the cited sources before deciding a subject was notable.  Not done signed, Rosguill talk 00:53, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have been contributing on Wikipedia for the last two years; I mainly review the AFC articles. Initially, I was active at the AFD, and I have good experience tagging CSD articles. I'm willing to also help with the new page patrolling and review new pages. Thank you! :) - Tatupiplu'talk 18:29, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have helped out with many new articles and drafts, adding references to them etc. I have also tagged drafts with the plagarism template, not english template and others. I am familiar with moving pages. I have seen some blank or obviously problematic drafts that are waiting for review. I want to be able to review these new draft pages along with new articles. I frequently do some new page patrol as part of my countervandalism activities (especially when the edit filter log either gets quiet and/or gets overrun with a single LTA flooding it to the point that it's not useful). It would be nice to be able to take pages out of the extremely backlogged patrol queue, rather than patrolling them but not being able to mark them as such. As of writing I had over 8,000(!) pages in the "unreviewed" category on Special:NewPagesFeed. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 23:37, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Taking Out The Trash: Do you ever edit Wikipedia while logged out? If so, do you ever do so to contribute to projectspace discussions? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 18:20, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamzin: No, I don't personally edit while logged out (at least not intentionally). However, as I think I've mentioned before elsewhere, the way the Internet Service Providers are structured in Indianapolis means that the entire city shares like four or five huge IP ranges, with a cluster dedicated to residential use and a cluster dedicated to commercial & public space (parks, etc) use. As such, there is a likelihood that there may be edits on the same ranges that I use both logged out and possibly from other unrelated accounts. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 18:35, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Taking Out The Trash: The edits I had in mind are those from 199.8.32.0/22 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial)), specifically 199.8.32.6. (Since you have said you're on the adjacent 199.8.28.0/22 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial)).) There's no ongoing disruption, so even if this is you, I wouldn't have cause to start an SPI; but since new page reviewer is a position of trust, I thought I'd ask about the edits. If you're saying it's not you, then fair enough. I'm not saying it's a sure thing. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 19:15, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamzin: I can confirm that none of the logged out edits on the 8.28.0/22 are me. Now that I've looked, it appears that there is one edit of mine on the 8.32.0/22, specifically this one. However I wasn't even aware of this until you brought it up, so most likely it was a technical glitch of some sort. None of the others, including the ones to ArbCom pages and to various train station articles, are mine. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 20:42, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Former reviewer. Self exempted a few months ago as I took a wiki break. Willing to have it back. -- Tame (talk) 12:52, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
