*'''Delete''': Don't know or remember why I uploaded it the way I did 10 years ago. The source webpage hasn't really changed much [https://web.archive.org/web/20110114022206/https://www.nndb.com/people/641/000103332/ since then]; the copyright notice (and lack of a license) was always there. File:Dentaku Kraftwerk cover.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by TwentytwoAug (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Non-free Japanese version of a cover. Claimed to be used for primary identification but is not in the infobox. And the cover image is very similar to the cover already in the infobox. Fails WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#3a. Whpq (talk) 03:14, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Kraftwerk Pocket Calculator excerpt.mp3 (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by TwentytwoAug (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This song sample is stated to be be "For taking an example of this song". That's not an actual purpose. As used, there is no significant sourced commentary to justify the inclusion of this sample. Fails WP:NFCC#8. Whpq (talk) 03:15, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Quat2005.JPG (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Angmering (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Actor Jason Flemyng portrayed the titular character in only the 2005 remake of The Quatermass Experiment. The actor hasn't made any subsequent appearances as the character to this date. Furthermore, prior actors portrayed the same character. I don't think the screenshot of the actor is any longer contextually significant to the character in question. Furthermore, there are free images of Flemyng (in case this screenshot gets deleted) and another actor Brian Donlevy, one of which I'll use soon. Hmm... Having second thoughts about the Flemyng image in Commons. That still doesn't ease my concerns about the screenshot. George Ho (talk) 03:49, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Tony Toni Tone - If I Had No Loot.ogg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Piotr Jr. (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

If article improvements are desired, then the "If I Had No Loot" article can be improved without hesitation. However, I'm unsure whether improvements can help the whole sample be more contextually significant to the whole song and irreplaceable by text. Assumption of sufficient critical commentary was a rationale for de-PRODding several months back. I just couldn't list the sample here because I just wanna go slow on nominating samples for FFD until I'm ready to increase nominations on samples.

Reading the article, I think readers may understand musical terms, which I think are not that musically challenging, and song references without the sample. I heard lyrics (probably the chorus) and the music in the sample, but I think they would be easy to convey and summarize in text, making the sample potentially redundant. Furthermore, the "Music and lyrics" section, into where I pulled the sample down from the infobox, mentions other songs but is kinda brief on the song itself. Moreover, I think an average reader may understand "new jack swing" and "a tempo of 108 beats per minute" without the sample, right? If audio identification, i.e. audio recognition, helps the portion itself be contextually significant enough to the song, then... well, great. However, sadly, I'm unconvinced how and why the portion I'm listing here has done more than just helping readers recognize the portion itself. File:Society of the Spectacle film.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by George Ho (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Uploaded the title card in 2013 as non-free. Recently changed the status to "PD-ineligible-USonly": screenshot has plain black background, text unoriginal, typeface well known and not complex. Unsure whether French law can consider the title card copyrightable (c:COM:France). If not, then transfer the title card to Commons. George Ho (talk) 09:37, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Man in the Box - Alice in Chains.ogg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Blz 2049 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

The sample's compliance with NFCC, especially "contextual significance", in the following articles must be evaluated: Alice in Chains, Alternative metal, Facelift (album), Man in the Box. Critical commentary to support it is insufficient in band, genre, and album articles, which may have enough text to convey their own topics without the sample. Unsure whether critical commentary is sufficient in the (main) song article. Just in case, I default to deciding that the song article can convey the understanding of the song without the sample, but I can stand corrected. George Ho (talk) 07:50, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Middle of the Road UK single cover.jpeg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Rlendog (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Uploaded File:Pretenders-middle-of-the-road-sire-US.jpg as free to use in 2016, but I haven't tagged the UK cover/sleeve as replaceable or PRODded it. Now I wonder, despite the band being English-American, whether the UK cover is contextually significant and irreplaceable, especially with the US sleeve ineligible for copyright. George Ho (talk) 05:34, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - The UK version provides a lot more contextual significance than the US cover. Rlendog (talk) 14:27, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I know the US front cover shows only the band's name. I was planning on using the back cover of the US single as free to use but ineligible for Commons transfer. Depending on the discussion results, that would have replaced either the US front cover (if UK cover is kept) or the UK one (if deleted). --George Ho (talk) 15:13, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Come As You Are (Nirvana song - sample).ogg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by TUF-KAT (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Currently used in American popular music, Come as You Are (Nirvana song), and Nevermind. The genre article uses several samples, and I'm unsure whether the sample of Nirvana's "Come As You Are" is contextually significant to the US pop music genre. I'm unsure as well about its usage in the album article. I think the sample can belong in the song article as it possibly illustrates critical commentary there, but I can stand corrected. Cropped from somewhere. Source/permission needed. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:25, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - no convincing argument for deletion. Yes, it's obvious there's been a crop, but this is a photo from a high school prom. The other people in the fuller image are irrelevant and so them being cropped out makes prfect sense. -- Whpq (talk) 19:13, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, orphaned with no obvious value. Inga Skaya article was deleted in 2020. Salavat (talk) 06:22, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • The photo is within the scope of Commons so it can be transferred there. Skaya is a Miss Universe Canada titleholder and so the image could be conceivably used in that or related articles either on the English or other language Wikipedias. -- Whpq (talk) 21:35, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The pictured trophy is likely subject to copyright and not considered de minimis. Image is not used anywhere. Ixfd64 (talk) 18:39, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - I'm not convinvced about deminimus, but regardless, the photo could be cropped to deal with any issue of the trophy. The image would be a good addition to our article on Iain Pyman. -- Whpq (talk) 19:12, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note - I have uploaded a version of the file with both the picture credits bit and trophy cropped out here and have added it to Iain Pyman. Not going to !vote because I am honestly unsure what needs to happen here - I agree that the trophy is highly unlikely to be considered de minimis (it is in the foreground and being held up to the camera by Pyman). While this image is under copyright, it is also needed for attribution purposes. HouseBlastertalk 20:27, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
File:Sleeping beauties 2.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Belovedfreak (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Readers can see in the screenshot a woman standing and another woman lying unconscious. However, the scene can be easily conveyed in text. Also, it doesn't help readers contextually understand the short film as a whole. Just now, I added the film's title card intended for an infobox, so I pushed this longstanding screenshot out into the body of the article. However, I still don't think it improves justification of using the screenshot. Image de-PRODded under assumption that screenshots are acceptable for use in Template:Infobox film. However, the infobox instructions doesn't mention any specific screenshot other than a title card, which can be used when an authentic poster or cover art is absent or nonexistent. Neither does WP:FILMPOSTER nor WP:FILMNFI. May likely be not contextually significant. George Ho (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
