The infobox is showing Trevor's citizenship as 'British'. But his CBE and KBE were honorary, meaning that at least up to 2002, when he received his honorary knighthood, he was an Irish citizen. If he took British citizenship towards the end of life, that would need to be sourced, and it would mean that he was then styled Sir William, which is not a thing that seems to have happened. Since Irish citizens have full civil rights in the United Kingdom (they are automatically entitled to reside, work, vote, draw benefits and use the National Health Service without any special application), there would be no particular advantage to taking British citizenship unless perhaps he wanted to use his title, which he does not seem to have done. Birthplace?

Is it Mitchelstown Co.Cork or was he born in Co. Offaly? 78.16.60.65 (talk) 00:07, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In Excursions in the Real World, page one, chapter one ("In County Cork"), Trevor writes: "My earliest memories are of County Cork: of sunshine and weeds in the garden at Mitchelstown, Civic Guards in the barracks next door..." All of his biographical references cite Co. Cork. Why is this a question?
