Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Extended-confirmed protection: Sanctions enforcement. 2603:8000:C000:58BB:0:0:0:100B (talk) 18:14, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Which sanctions? Ymblanter (talk) 13:19, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ARBIP. Daniel Case (talk) 21:20, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But these just introduce contentious topic, they do not authorise blanket ecp protection such as for example PIA. I do not see any ongoing disruption in the article which would require any protection. Ymblanter (talk) 14:04, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's my understanding (I can't find the page that says this, but everyone involved in this topic area seems to believe it) that the CT designation authorizes admins to impose ECP with less discussion than usual. I have certainly done this in the past without complaint.
This is probably moot, though, as you are correct that disruption on this page is at the moment minimal. Daniel Case (talk) 20:25, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of IP level and new user vandalism. Adding misleading information to the article. Cybavortex143 (talk) 17:30, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. A few problem edits two days ago, but not since. Hopefully the problem has subsided. MelanieN (talk) 17:02, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Lots of unsourced info and vandalism in past couple of days from IP and new editors. 10mmsocket (talk) 22:15, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. MelanieN (talk) 17:11, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent addition of unsourced and made up content by multiple editors (confirmed as made up at WT:CRIC#ICC Women's Under-19 Cricket World Cup), along with repeated MOS:INFOBOXFLAG violations by multiple editors. We shouldn't be allowing this systematic abuse of Wikipedia. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:14, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fully protected for a period of one week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. If talk page discussions resolve some of these issues earlier, feel free to request an early end to the protection. Daniel Case (talk) 20:30, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Brojam (talk) 17:53, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

At this point it's been about five hours since the last disruptive edits. Let's see if maybe things calm down. Daniel Case (talk) 20:32, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Per Wikipedia:PIA. Qwv (talk) 19:32, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Doesn't look like there's been any disruption since May. Daniel Case (talk) 20:33, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – About as soon as the last protection expired, the same incorrect edits (claiming the station started in 1926 as an NBC affiliate — a highly dubious claim on both counts for a Mexican television station) that led to that protection resumed. WCQuidditch 21:28, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of six months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 20:35, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: A lot of unhelpful, disruptive, and unsourced edits by IP users. Mann Mann (talk) 05:40, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Temporary semi-protection: Disruptive editing. The Doom Patrol (talk) 06:17, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of IP vandalism and POV pushing by new users who don't seem to be WP:HTBAE, inherently controversial topic MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE IS REAL EMO!(talk or whatever) 08:33, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – The creator of the article has had their completely unsourced article about a living person draftified several times. However, they just copy-paste their sandbox back into the main page, with no regard for the objections of other users. (Could also just block the user too). Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 12:10, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: IP users behind who I suspect the subject of the article have for years consistently edited the article, often adding unsourced praise. I added a long descriptions of my findings to the talk page back in 2021, where I came to the conclusion that the article was very likely mostly written by the subject himself, in blatant violation of WP:CONFLICT. Since then this pattern has persisted, for example with the same IP address adding praise back in without addressing any of the concerns regarding WP:CONFLICT and WP:V. At this point I think only deleting the article or semi-protecting it will help. QuaintlyLittoral (talk) 13:51, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: IP vandalism. Previously requested for it, but didn't go through. BattleshipMan (talk) 15:57, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – This article is on the brink of an edit war. Author does not like it when the article is neutralised and tries to chase me away. The Banner talk 16:26, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary. I've already said in my edit summary I will not edit war. Editor continues to follow me and my work, adding tags unnecessarily and removing sourced details. I've asked them to leave me alone multiple times. This is just additional drama; no need to protect page. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:33, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are not the owner of the articles you have written. That you want to restore irrelevant and spammy details is not in the best interest of the encyclopedia. You should work on your editing style. The Banner talk 16:40, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 16:36, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Edit warring. Disruptive editing from which there is an insistence that the band are a trio when there are no sources proving that they aren't. HorrorLover555 (talk) 16:39, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Author does not like it when the article is neutralised and claims ownership. The Banner talk 16:47, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, entirely unnecessary (see Acadia: A New Orleans Bistro above). I've been clear I am not going to edit war. Editor continues to follow me, adding tags unnecessarily and removing sourced details, even when other editors have disagreed with The Banner's assessments. I would like for this editor to please leave me alone, which I've requested multiple times now. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:51, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent Vandalism. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:53, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Persistent ignorance of MOS guidelines. When protected, this edit is what should be mained, as it follows MOS guidelines, as outlined by MOS:DTAB and MOS:ACCESS. livelikemusic (TALK!) 17:10, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of vandalism over the past few days. Likely going to be a lot more for the next two weeks based on the upcoming Super Bowl. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:16, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Continuous IP vandalism DMVHistorian (talk) 17:35, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistent IP edit warring. Iaof2017 (talk) 17:38, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Repeated obvious sockpuppetry, removal of AfD. Always using 'Admin' as the summary. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 17:51, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Repeated obvious sockpuppetry, removal of AfD. Always using 'Admin' as the summary. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 17:53, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Resumed after last 2 month protect expired. Dynamic IP falsifying info continues. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:23, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Once again, repeated addition of unsourced (and incorrect) character last names, for which the page was previously protected. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 18:28, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Requesting for the second time. Persistent, disruptive edit-warring and vandalism from multiple IPs and unregistered users. Novemberjazz 19:12, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Unregistered users" are the same thing as IPs. If they have a username then they are automatically registered. I would assume you mean new users? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:15, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Nearly the entire edit history going back to at least June 2020 is vandalism and reverts. While semi-protected for a year between March 2021 and March 2022, there was no vandalism, but since that protection expired, vandalism by IPs and newer accounts again comprises the majority of edits. Please consider permanent semi-protection. Toadspike (talk) 19:52, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Jalen Folf (talk) 20:35, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Mass spam about "Turning Red" by IPs. 5.20.227.211 (talk) 20:37, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
