When I saw this change I checked various sources and they said 32. I didn’t check the sources used bud I did check the first just now which is why I reverted you. Doug Weller talk 19:31, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive Editing and Vandalism: Seventeenth Dynasty Article

Hi Lone-078,

I noticed that you reverted previous disruptive editing and acts of vandalism by users on the Seventeenth Dynasty of Egypt article page. There is a user who may have multiple accounts but is including original research and misrepresenting source material. I have warned them about this but it has now escalated into disruptive edit warring with the user introducing edits without supporting statements from the sources. These users are: 41.34.230.251 and 197.61.29.150 but I suspect they are one and the same user operating from different I.P. addresses. Could you assist in having their accounts blocked ?WikiUser4020 (talk) 21:58, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiUser4020: I've just seen. It is very difficult to keep up with all the edits you have exchanged in the past hours (on a separate note, you should both consider yourself lucky that you haven't been blocked for that edit war). Has the situation now calmed down? Is the current version a good compromise? Lone-078 (talk) 16:14, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Lone-078 The situation seems to have been resolved. The current version seems to be a compromise but I would suggest you keep a watch on that article page as this user seems to have had multiple accounts and wanted to misrepresent the views of the cited sources before the final revisions were made. I will no longer be active on Wikipedia as I was only active for a temporary period. WikiUser4020 (talk) 16:37, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. I believe you have already retired once but then you came back. however, I respect your decision. Farewell, Lone-078 (talk) 18:38, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Undid revision to provide a more detailed edit summary: corrected time signifiers, a few sentences' structure and term usage and also omitted parts that don't serve the purpose of telling Alexandria's story accurately in my opinion as an Egyptian journalist and an Alexandrian.

Edits made by me were made to remove and correct parts I believe serve a purpose other than telling the city's story, that purpose being propaganda - which I very much recognize when I see it since I am a journalist professionally. Simply saying my edits are "unconstructive" and not providing reasoning as to why you think they are this way is not sufficient to continue removing and undoing my edits time and time again. Kindly provide proper reasoning or refrain from omitting my contribution on pages concerning my own country and identity. Thanks.

But I did provide the reasons on your IP talk. You tampered with WP:ERA, WP:NNPOV and WP:CENSORED. Apparently, you seem to provide propaganda instead of removing it, since it appears that you tend to remove stuff which nevertheless is perfectly inherent to the topic, yet doesn't appear to sound fine to you (Jewish or Christian material, mentions of disorders etc) in what looks like censoring, and in either cases it happens even when the removed stuff was backed by reliable sources. An almost equal edit (presumably by you) on a different IP was reverted on 21 May, ask yourself why. And you did the very same on Cairo. And the fact you are a journalist and a native, even if true, changes little if any; we have rules here. Lone-078 (talk) 23:30, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to think my edits were made out of bigotry, however, that is nowhere near the case. My edits on Places of Worship were to omit parts that did not match the section's prompt in just listing places of worship and information on them. In Islam, places of worship were simply listed. In Judaism and Christianity, someone went on tangents regarding the religions themselves that did not pertain to the subject "Places of Worship" - why was that done for some but not all of the religions listed? I'm an atheist, I do not follow any religion, much less an Abrahamic religion. However, if Abrahamic religions must be integrated into my country's history and overall story, then that should be in an equal manner that doesn't favor some over others. I also edited parts that were worded in a way that paints Egyptians as uncivilized barbarians. Arab nationalism? Egyptians are not Arab, and we have always been hospitable and welcoming to non-invading foreigners. Women face constant discrimination and sexual harassment? I'm a woman, it's true that in Egypt sexual harassment towards women is common - just like it is in the rest of the world. As for discrimination, Egypt is one of the most equal countries in the region, we have female politicians, female judges, equal work opportunities for women, 3 month extendable paid maternity leave, equal salaries, etc. Reading what was written in these articles felt like the person writing them had some vendetta against Egyptians or was plain xenophobic. 41.47.138.147 (talk) 04:42, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have to apologize regarding the Arab/Egyptian issue. Having an interest in ancient Egyptian topics, I unconsciously failed to call this modern Egyptian topic as such, rather pulling out the Arab thing which I now acknowledge to be imprecise. I could partially agree to what you said about the "places of worship" section, but I would rather suggest you to expand the part about the religion you felt was understated, rather than cutting material from the others. I understand your point of view quite clearly and to be honest, it mirrors mine quite well. However, Wikipedia isn't made from its editors' point of view, but from reliable sources. So, also about the contested cuts regarding women on Cairo, it's your own word/experience against a reliable source, and here on Wiki, the latter always wins. Last but not least, you still failed to recognize WP:ERA. Lone-078 (talk) 13:22, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your warning

Hi, i think that this warning you posted on the talk page of a newbie sounds like WP:BITE, the user's edits may be irrelevant, but i think that they edited the article trying to improve it in good faith, i suggest you remove your warning. Best.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 00:48, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikaviani fine. The warning was quite automatic, though. All I wanted to let him know is that here we adhere to WP:ERA. Lone-078 (talk) 15:21, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much. happy editing. Best.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 15:46, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason: That IP address range is not blocked. If you are unable to edit, please provide your exact IP address which you can find using WhatIsMyIPAddress. Note if you've been using a proxy or a VPN, you need to disable it and wait a full 24 hours. Yamla (talk) 17:38, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if I compiled the template above the right way. This also happened to me yesterday, but for some reason I was able to edit again soon after. Fastweb is my internet provider since years, and I always edit while logged in. Lone-078 (talk) 15:35, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Yamla: Apparently I have two IPs: 2001:b07:6478:c09e:ff74:daf7:9e5b:c2af which is currently blocked for 3 years, and it falls within the range mentioned above; and 93.38.32.79 which is not blocked. As far as I know, I never used VPN or proxies. Lone-078 (talk) 19:22, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'm not great with IPv6 addresses. You should file a new request. The only one causing you problems is the 2001:b07:6478:c09e:ff74:daf7:9e5b:c2af address. --Yamla (talk) 21:10, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

hakor

Hello, I hope you are well. A source says that Hakor was the pharaoh of Egypt and Athena alan gardiner Egypt of the Pharaohs: An Introduction page 374 and book black athens page 212 can you return the scoure and thanks sir 102.190.165.254 (talk) 20:30, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@102.190.165.254: Hello. I have Gardiner's Egypt of the pharaohs in my hands right now. Hakor allied with Evagoras and thus also with Athens against the Achamenid Empire, but with the Peace of Antalcidas, Athens stepped down the alliance.
  • This means that during Hakor's reign, Egypt and Athens shared a short-lived alliance;
  • This does not mean that Hakor was automatically proclaimed "Pharaoh of Athens", as much as that Egypt wasn't automatically annected to the City-state of Athens.
That's it. About the second book, I believe you refer to Martin Bernal's Black Athena, a pseudohistory book which falls under WP:FRINGE, thus, unusable on Wikipedia. Farewell. Lone-078 (talk) 20:52, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Indeedd it may be right.. but I thought that mention the unity between Athens and Egypt might be useful in the encyclopedia There is no Egyptian colonization of Athens but a union under King Hakur Maybe you can describe it better than me and I'm sorry for the inconvenience and i wish to you every fine thanks.. 2C0F:FC89:F8:2653:9D7D:AA02:4645:79D0 (talk) 22:02, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion

Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to British school of diffusionism.

If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref> and one or more <ref name="foo"/> referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref> but left the <ref name="foo"/>, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/> with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.

If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks! About middle points

I see your changes to Osireion. Can you see a more balanced view on that paragraph? . If you are familiar , that sounds very disputed or nonsense. The temple is below water and the markings are incredible. Curious you want to silence that info. 88.4.56.11 (talk) 16:01, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
