Unsubstantiated allegation

I removed the first half of this sentence: In spite of their hostility towards him and NWA, the FBI actually uncovered a plot to asassinate Eazy-E. There is no sustantiation that the FBI was hostile to him or NWA. RickK 06:21, Mar 25, 2005 (UTC)

  • Did you even bother reading the Wikipedia article on NWA before you edited this page? Do you know why NWA is famous? What "sustantiation" is there for the half of the sentence saying that the FBI uncovered a plot to asassinate Eazy-E? Focus your energy on another article, you're too ignorant to deal with this one. CPS 10:23, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Since you mentioned it, and authored the sentence in question, what substantiation IS there for the "plot to assassinate Eazy-E"? Also, from what you have said, the first half of the statement in question should better be phrased "Despite the hostility of Eazy-E and NWA against law enforcement authorities, the FBI actually ...". --Maikel 14:55, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What about this whole section: Another question surrounding Eazy-E's death arose from the fact that on Snoop Doggy Dogg's first album Doggystyle which was released in 1993, two years before Eazy said he knew he had AIDS, you can hear the words "HIV pussy having Motherfucker" followed by the words "Eazy come, Eazy go", you can hear it right before the fifth track on the album which is "Lodi Dodi". It has been said that at sometime between 1992-1993 someone from Snoop or Dre's camp sent an AIDS infected woman to sleep with Eazy knowingly giving him the virus which would explain how Snoop knew Eazy-E had AIDS even before Eazy did.

I have never heard this before, and have no idea where this information came from (as it is uncited). This sounds more like something from a soap opera rather than reality and should probably be completely removed from this article unless it is backed up from a reliable source. Ameltzer 03:27, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To user Ameltzer: First of all did you even listen to the Doggystyle album before you decided to delete the section? Obviously you didn't because it can be heard quite clearly at the beginning of the 5th track. The Doggystyle album came out way before Eazy said he knew he had it. Next time do some research before you delete something. Obviously you're not very intelligent so it's to be expected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.158.254.71 (talkcontribs) 2006-06-09 (UTC)

I agree that the Lodi Dodi intro is worth including. However, you shouldn't have attacked Ameltzer and "It has been said that at sometime between 1992-1993 someone from Snoop or Dre's camp sent an AIDS infected woman to sleep with Eazy knowingly giving him the virus which would explain how Snoop knew Eazy-E had AIDS even before Eazy did" does require a source (or removal). Tim Ivorson 2006-06-14
It looks like the Lodi Dodi intro text was re-added, and it still reads like someone's intepretation of something that is unsourced and unsubstantiated. Unless Snoop Dogg comes out and admits to doing this, it should probably be removed. Any editing to make it read like the rumor and speculation that it is will only fill it with original research, unsourced statements, or weasel words. Ameltzer 23:02, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
At the risk of further angering anonymous, I once again removed this statement: The words "HIV pussy having Motherfucker" and "Eazy come, Eazy go" appeared on Snoop Dogg's album Doggystyle, which was released 16 months before Eazy revealed he had AIDS. some people believe this means Snoop Dogg had a part in Eazy's death. However, saying that someone had HIV was a slang term in the early/mid-1990s.. It's weasley, reads like tabloid talk and seems completely irrelevant to the discussion on Eazy-E's death. If someone can somehow word this to be NPOV, sourced, CREDIBLE, and not read like someone's sensationalist musings, be my guest. Ameltzer 23:08, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saying someone had HIV was never a slang term so I don't know where you got that from, but you were right to delete the assumptions part of it. The part about the lyrics on the doggystyle album should be included because it either means that someone from Snoops camp knew Easy had HIV before Easy did or Easy had been knowingly living with the virus for a longer time than originally thought.

That skit in Doggystyle was actually diss to Luke i heard who dissed Dr.Dre in the song called Cowards in Compton and Dr.Dre and snoop dissed him in Dre day saying Luke bending Over getting fucked. Then Snoop said Luke can have a big fat dick.

Hey it's "Luke can "EAT" a big fat Dick" User:Next Fiday

Another ridiculous assumption

'Eazy-E was the only person to walk in the white house without a business suit'; how on earth could that be true? Millions of people visit the White House every year, and I highly doubt even invited guests ALL wear business suits.Jmlk17 14:27, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Who ever did that is an idiot refering to The Game's song Dreams where game spits

Also Eazy had that Ronald Regan beofet thing and thats what he's talking about. -Thousandsons

Picture

I removed the link to a picture after the sentence about Eazy-E in drag. I don't know what Eazy-E looks like, but that guy in the picture is clearly not in drag, so it can't be the right picture. JIP | Talk 10:10, 9 May 2005 (UTC) Dr Dre back in his Wrecking Cru days?--Daddyluv 21:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)daddyluv[reply]

Republican quote

Why was my correction of the Republican quote reverted? I changed it based on the actual audio recording made of Eazy-E speaking those words, which appears on the Ruthless Records Tenth Anniversary Compilation (Decade of Game) disc 1 track 11 - Above The Law - Murder Rap.

I don't see how that could be incorrect.

may i say about the stupid commeent about eazy e in drag...it wasnt him it was dr dre

Charles Wright

Is Eric Wright in any way related to Charles Wright, who authored the song "Express Yourself" (1970, with the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band) which was sampled for the eponymous track on N. W. A.'s first album? Just curious! --Maikel 10:30, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

charles wright has nothing to do with eazy e--EZ 21:47, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, Louie

The intro for "Sorry, Louie" sounds like an movie sample from an old film noir or something... Is tahat so, or does Eric just sound like that when he refrains from rapping... 85.226.122.222 01:58, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

that wasn't Eazy talking in the beginning. he does kinda sound wierd when he talks tho.

How many children did Eazy-E father?

Eazy-E fathered nine children by seven different women.

After paging through the article history, this statistic changes on a near daily basis from anywhere between 5 and 9. Can someone please cite an appropriate source for this information? Can't sleep, clown will eat me 05:17, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Year of Birth

Death certificate says he was born in 1963 but his birth certificate says he was born in 1964. Birth certificate is contemporaneous so more reliable. Questors 23:54, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It seems odd that his family would say he was born in 1963 on his tombstone if his birth certificate said 1964...but yeaj, you're right. Birth cert says 1964.--Fallout boy 06:25, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some times people making birth certificate make mistake. Or maybe Eazy-E never wants people to find his real age that he told to put 1963 before he died

There is No proof that he was born 1963 i have this T-Shirt that says "1964" - 1995

so-called crap

In this edit, a bunch of stuff was dropped (apparently it's "crap"), and while it is less important stuff, and could have been shortened, I think it would be good to leave some of it in. The edit was pretty big, and there is stuff in the middle that seems fine to me (not that I would know) but at the beginning and end, I have two issues I'd like to discuss.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eazy-E&diff=prev&oldid=32455350

1) the bit about misogyny. I don't know if Eazy E was a misogynist, but the lack of respect and emotional connection to sexual partners was in his lyrics specifically and repeatedly; saying "His" lack of respect points at the author, not the rap, so that could be changed if people think it's more accurate. It could be said that needing to highlight this is POV, but the lyrics seemed to feel the need to make a position clear ("you think I give a fuck about a bitch? I ain't a sucker"; "I'm a brother that would smother your mother, and make your sister think I love her"). Just "abundant sexual activity" doesn't really cover the style evocated in Eazy-E's work. "Misogyny" is a loaded word and could be left out, so long as the point is made. Perhaps it would be better to point out that the lyrics express not caring about anyone, but a special point is made about women, whereas not caring about other guys on the street is sort of implicit in the other lyrics.

2) I think a lot of the fame that Eazy E has now was achieved after his death, as other famous projects put a spotlight on him. That GTA game was very big and got a lot of people looking back on Eazy E, and I know a lot of people who wouldn't really remember him if they hadn't started talking and reflecting when the Dynamite Hack song came out. 209.249.137.111 17:42, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eazy-E has been evaluated according to the Featured Music Project criteria, most recently affirmed as of this revision. The article's most important issues are listed below. Since this evaluation, the article may have been improved.

The following areas need work to meet the criteria: Lead - Comprehensiveness - Pictures - Audio - References - Format/Style
The space below is for limited discussion on this article's prospects as a featured article candidate. Please take conversations to the article talk page.
  • Lead: Insubstantial, needs rewrite
  • Comprehensiveness: Musical style and influences
  • Pictures: Needs fair use rationales
  • Audio: Needs sound samples
  • References': Needs references section
  • Format/Style: Needs major copyedit

Revision

I went ahead and revised some of the grammar and reworded a few things. The content is more or less unchanged. I also tried to make some sense of that transcribed audio quote and introduce some punctuation. The article still needs someone to rectify some of the conflict between this page and the NWA page (i.e., did Eazy die in Compton or Los Angeles? Did he believe he had bronchitis or strep throat? How many kids by how many women? (His official/fansite? says seven by six)). Also, can we get a source on that sales figure for Eternal E - Gangsta Memorial Edition? 9 million sounds a bit high. License2Kill

License2Kill's edits on 2006-06-17 revert to License2Kill's last edit on 2006-06-12. [1] I've reverted License2Kill's edits because the last version before the revert seems preferable to me. License2Kill hasn't explained the revert, but License2Kill may have reasonable objections to the current version. I don't intend my revert to be taken as indicating that I think every one of his changes yesterday is bad, only that together they they make the article worse. Tim Ivorson 2006-06-18

It's no problem, I reverted it because it just made it easier with the HTML. License2Kill 03:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello License2Kill. The image was probably deleted because it didn't have the information needed to check its copyright status. The important thing is that it isn't there anymore, so there's no point including it in the article. Tim Ivorson 2006-07-25

Tombstone

In his song "Tha Muthaphukkin' Real" he raps "And it's a fact to be exact my tombstone should read: He Put Compton On That Map". Wright's body was laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California. Can anyone from that region check out his tombstone? I live in The Netherlands, I can hardly travel there to check it out. --213.46.1.82 17:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I (finally) found a picture from his grave via Google. It says: "Our Beloved ERIC WRIGHT 1963 - 1995 We Loved Him A Lot But God Loved Him More". --213.46.1.82 23:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone have a problem with me removing the following text? It reads like something in a tabloid and has little to do with Eazy himself. If mentioned at all it should be a single sentence like : his daughter Erin has appeared on the MTV series 'My Super Sweet 16. Speak now or forever hold your piece:

"On February 5, 2007, his daughter Erin appeared on the MTV series 'My Super Sweet 16.' Her party was at a 16 million dollar mansion in Bel-Air, and in her entrance she appeared in an approx. $400k Lamborghini Murciélago. She is noted for her diva attitude to her clothing and hair stylist[citation needed]. She got a Porsche Cayenne for her birthday and had her party shut down due to noise levels."
