The article as created in February 2004 appears to be a straight copy of Colvin's 1954 book ''A Biographical Dictionary of English Architects, 1660-1840'' which is correctly listed first under References. Compare this [http://beckford.c18.net/wbwyattbio.html online copy]. According to [[MW:Who Wrote That?]] the initial text still accounts for 30% of the article. I'll trim the Notes section which isn't in Wikipedia style. -- [[User:Wire723|Wire723]] ([[User talk:Wire723|talk]]) 16:12, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

==Cathedral restorations==

This section strikes me as non-NPOV;

"Of his cathedral restorations, inspired as they were by the mistaken idea that a medieval church ought to be homogeneous in style and unencumbered by screens, monuments, and other obtrusive relics of the past, it can only be said that the Chapters who employed him were no more enlightened than their architect, and that at Westminster Abbey at least he accomplished an urgent work of repair in an unexceptionable manner."

Does anyone know what year Wyatt designed Westport, Ireland? Evertype 21:46, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A document from Mayo County Council says 1780. Can anyone confirm? Evertype 23:23, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest removing the link to the Etruscan civilisation page, as 'Etruscan' in an 18th century design context does not relate to their artistic output, but rather to design largely inspired by decorated vases (actually Greek) found in southern Italy and then thought to be 'Etruscan'. The 'Etruscan' style of Robert Adam eg at Osterley Park) is an example. Design directly inspired by actual Etruscan finds does appear in the 1840s, especially in jewellery.
