The article :Lavender, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern: |

<blockquote>No information found about this location. The only mentions were entries in tables of shipping points: , . The name "Lavender" doesn't appear on any USGS map that I could find at the coordinates given; early maps (circa 1900) show the area as "Big Creek" but there's nothing there today except a few scattered farms. Without information this is a failure of both WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG. GNIS is insufficient for notability.</blockquote> |

The article Motion, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Completely non-notable location. From maps, appears to have been a railway point on a now-abandoned railroad, not a "community". Another zero-effort article based solely on GNIS; no information about this site otherwise found. Clearly not an inhabited place, therefore fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Improper removal of proposed deletion tag
It is not appropriate to remove the tag by reverting the edit. You are supposed to make your edit, remove the tag, and state why in the comment. You need to go fix all those.James.folsom (talk) 20:38, 26 December 2023 (UTC)

Also your supposed to make an edit when you remove them, not just revert them. But I want to take this moment to thank you for removing the tags, because I was likely going to do it anyway. The article Martindale, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not a notable location; no evidence found that this was ever a "town". Apart from the two references cited (which are unreliable), the only mention I could find was from Bullinger's Postal and Shippers Guide: [1], i.e. a directory entry. Most likely this was just a rural rail stop/riverboat stop on the Snake River. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Levey, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article is false. This was never a "town"; no information to that effect was found. Only mention found is a postal and shippers' guide: [2]. GNIS and a place-names guide are insufficient for notability and are not reliable; the fact that this place was named after a railroad official strongly suggests it was just a siding or flag stop; no evidence whatsoever exists that this was a town. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Drumheller, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Satellite view shows a single farm surrounded by miles of wheat fields. Reference 3 does describe the place as a "town", but that is based on personal correspondence and therefore not reliable. Other references are insufficient for notability. No other mentions found. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article McAdam, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Just as with Drumheller, Washington, the place names guide is the only source I can find describing this as a "town", and it's based on a letter to the author of that book. Otherwise, there is no mention of a McAdam anywhere, let alone a "town". GNIS does not establish notability; current coordinates just show empty fields. Not a community/town, fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Long, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article is false. Reference 2 clearly states this was a railroad stop at the site of a mill, and not a "community". Rail stops are not inherently notable, and no other information could be found. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Ping, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location, no information found. Reference 4 is the only source with any information, other than GNIS, and even if it is correct, this isn't a community today; satellite view shows a rural intersection surrounded by farmland. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Maplecreek, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location, not a "community". No information other than passing mentions of the post office could be found; the best I could do is a table of election candidates from 1914 showing that one candidate for county commissioner had a Maplecreek address: [3], which means nothing because this was during the decade when the post office was active. The fact that it's "Maplecreek" and not "Maple Creek" should be a dead giveaway that this was just a rural post office, since for a time rural post offices in the US were required to have one-word names. Satellite view shows farmland. Fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Robinson, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Zero information found about this place other than the cited sources, which are insufficient for notability (and Meany's book is highly questionable; see AfD for Ping, Washington. Geolocates to a remote canyon with no infrastructure anywhere. Fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Anglin, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. History of the region describes it as a post office: [4]. No evidence this is or was a "community" and the site is now ranchland with an Anglin Cemetery (probably a family plot) nearby. Fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Woodmans, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non notable location. No evidence found that this is or ever was a "community"; several mentions of a Woodmans Station or "Woodman's place" could be found, but without any description, all passing. Satellite view shows a house by the bay. Without evidence that this was ever a recognized settlement, it fails WP:GEOLAND. GNIS does not establish notability.

The article McGees, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
If this was really a "town" you'd expect some mention in a newspaper at some point, but no such mention could be found; the only mentions of a McGee or McGees in the Jefferson County press (all 3 of them) are to people with that name: [5]. Meany's place-names guide is a highly questionable source, as established by several recent AfD's. Satellite view of coordinates shows forest with several luxury homes in the area. Without real information this article fails both WP:V and WP:GEOLAND. GNIS is insufficient for either.

The article Craige, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No information found; not a notable location. Sources cited are either insufficient for notability (GNIS) or likely unreliable (the other two, per recent AfD's on other Washington locations). Fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND; all we know is that there was once a rural post office by this name, which is not the same thing as a ghost town.

The article Godfrey, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No information found; not a notable location. A few passing mentions from the early twentieth century could be found in local press, but nothing at all abou this "town"; coordinates at present are just an empty stretch of road along the river. Without any significant information this place fails WP:GEOLAND; GNIS and the existence of a post office are insufficient for notability.

The article Ceres, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not a notable location. All of the sources mentioned are either trivial mentions or are insufficient for notability (GNIS; Jim Forte). Only reference 6 approaches reliability, and it plainly states that Ceres was just a road-rail crossing with a general store, and the post office was a "pigeon cabinet" in the corner of the store. Satellite images reveal the store and railroad are both gone now, with a single farmhouse nearby. Non-notable; fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Leber, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; the cited sources are either unreliable (Meany, Forte) or insufficient for notability (GNIS). Other than these sources, only shipping directory entries could be found. No mention in a complete history of Pierce County, except for one Chris Leber: [6]. Newspapers also mention several people with the last name Leber, but no "town". The closest I can find is this 1977 history piece in the News-Tribune: [7], which is ambiguous about what Leber was but clearly states Leber post office was in a private home. In all likelihood this was just a farm with a post office, never a "town", so the article fails verifiability as well as notability. Satellite view shows a rural house.

The article Helsing Junction, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not an unincorporated community; this was just a rail junction. Reference 2 describes it as such, and reference 1 (GNIS) does not establish notability. As a rail junction this location is subject to GNG, which is failed because of the lack of significant coverage.

The article Plumb, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Per reference 3 (the only source of information that could be found) this was just a rural station with a nearby school and a post office for a whole six years. These features could commonly be found in remote areas during the 19th century and do not amount to a "community", let alone one that is still recognized as such. No other information could be found and satellite view shows just a railroad track with a single farm nearby: [8]. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Union Mill, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Only passing mentions of this place could be found: [9], [10], [11], all of which suggest it was just a sawmill and never a "community". The existence of a post office is not significant, since in the pre-automobile era factory workers often lived at the facilities where they worked, so a post office would be necessary. Current satellite view just shows an industrial building surrounded by residential areas. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Dolphin, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Name (and the fact that it's located on Orcas Island) make it very hard to find information, but the cited sources are insufficient for notability and/or questionable. Likely this was just a rural post office, and now it's nothing but a couple of vacation cabins on Dolphin Bay. The article doesn't even mention it's on Orcas Island, suggesting the creator didn't know anything about this place and was just transcribing Meany's place-names guide onto Wikipedia. That's not how articles should be written. Fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Eden, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; GNIS and existence of a post office are insufficient for notability. Apart from the sources cited, and a couple of tables of post offices, the only source that could be found is [12], which mentions Eden Valley but never any "community" of Eden. There was an Eden Valley School and Eden Valley Cemetery, suggesting this was just a valley or a "region" but never a community. With only passing mentions this place fails WP:GEOLAND.

The article Seahaven, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. I can find several passing mentions of this town in the western Washington press from the early 1890's, confirming it existed. However, it seems to have been very short-lived. Nothing at all post-1900, other than Meany (which is unreliable). Satellite view of the coordinates just shows empty tidal flats along the Willapa River, with no human structures of any kind. Without sources this is a failure of WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Grant, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; a post office does not make a place a "community". There is a historic Grant School: [13], and early topos show a Grant Ferry, but there is no "community" of Grant until the 1953 topo map: [14], long after the school and post office were closed. From the Grant School website the area appears to be called Pickering today; the nondescript name makes it hard to search for more information. Without further information this site fails WP:GEOLAND. I wouldn't be opposed to an article about the school, but there doesn't seem to be a community.

The article Lavender, Washington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No information found about this location. The only mentions were entries in tables of shipping points: [15], [16]. The name "Lavender" doesn't appear on any USGS map that I could find at the coordinates given; early maps (circa 1900) show the area as "Big Creek" but there's nothing there today except a few scattered farms. Without information this is a failure of both WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG. GNIS is insufficient for notability.
