If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Steve Rao, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Qcne (talk) 19:05, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Acroterion (talk) 19:22, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Run the business user

Decline reason:

This does not address your violations of WP:COI and WP:PROMO. Yamla (talk) 22:20, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You will still need to address the promotional material you posted about a local politician. Wikipedia does not allow advocacy or promotion. Acroterion (talk) 21:42, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. It’s totally a free public service BTW. RTBLLC (talk) 22:01, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What username do you recommend? I just want to be able to make meaningful contributions to Wikipedia. How can I? Will username rtscooter work? RTBLLC (talk) 22:27, 28 May 2024
This user is asking to be unblocked to request a change in username.

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please place {{subst:Unblock on hold-notification | 1=RTBLLC}} on the administrator's talk page. Then replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=rtscooter | 3= some meaningful username run the scooter | 4=~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=rtscooter | reason= some meaningful username run the scooter | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=rtscooter | reason= some meaningful username run the scooter | decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

You also need to address your violations of WP:COI and WP:PROMO. From your unblock requests, it looks like you mistakenly think the only problem is your username. --Yamla (talk) 22:48, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The draft Steve Rao is deleted by Acroterion (talk · contribs). How can I request to restore it? I am ready to remove promotional language and include only factual information. Thank you. RTBLLC (talk) 00:22, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As opposed to unfactual information? The draft was promotional in nature. You appear to have a conflict of interest in promoting this person - you need to address that problem, not just try again. Acroterion (talk) 00:35, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No affiliation whatsoever. I just saw no Wikipedia page for the gentleman and thought I would create one as they are public facing. RTBLLC (talk) 01:23, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then why did the draft read like a campaign platform? Acroterion (talk) 02:01, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure that was the intention. I am willing to update the draft if restored. Could you do that and based on new content, maybe delete again or seek edits or approve? RTBLLC (talk) 02:29, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You aren't going to be unblocked to write about Steve Rao, given your history of inappropriate editing there. If this is your only goal, this is the end of the line. --Yamla (talk) 09:38, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

a meaningful username as suggested in the block content

Decline reason:

Procedural decline; this is a duplicate request. Only one open unblock request at a time please. Yamla (talk) 10:03, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to appeal the block on my account and request the restoration of the Draft:Steve Rao. I am willing to remove any unintentional promotional jargon from the content to ensure it meets Wikipedia’s guidelines for neutrality and verifiability.
Thank you for your consideration. RTBLLC (talk) 09:57, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What steps should I take next? Am I now unable to contribute any content to Wikipedia? Please advise on how to resolve these issues. It seems more constructive to request changes to drafts or usernames instead of implementing an indefinite block. Meaningful communication is essential for resolving issues effectively. The way my case is being handled feels somewhat authoritarian. Thank you for your understanding. Just my thoughts. RTBLLC (talk) 11:15, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Meaningful communication is indeed important and you are not doing that. You need to convince us you won't write about Steve Rao. You remain inappropriately fixated on that subject. You also need to convince us you understand WP:PROMO. You certainly haven't done that. Basically, you've completely failed to communicate any reason for us to believe you plan to be a constructive, neutral editor here rather than one fixated on promoting Rao. This is my last response to you. --Yamla (talk) 11:22, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand the importance of meaningful communication and regret any misunderstanding caused by my previous messages. I recognize the necessity of adhering to Wikipedia’s guidelines, including WP:PROMO, and I apologize for any perceived promotional content in my previous contributions.
I acknowledge your concerns about my focus on Steve Rao and assure you that my intention was not to promote but to contribute neutral, verifiable content. Moving forward, I am committed to contributing constructively and neutrally across a variety of topics, adhering strictly to Wikipedia’s standards.
Thank you for your feedback and patience. I appreciate the opportunity to address these concerns and to learn from this experience. RTBLLC (talk) 11:27, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
GPTZero score = 100%. Acroterion (talk) 11:53, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's just for correct grammar and having a proper conversation with you folks. The original thought is mine and mine alone. The request stands the same.
How to proceed? If this is a deadend, let me know please. I don't want to waste your time and mine on this anymore. RTBLLC (talk) 12:06, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also there was a scarce content about Steve Rao on internet. Hence started of with a wiki page on them. Thought I will let you know my motivation for it. RTBLLC (talk) 12:30, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When discussions of proposals to delete articles, media, or other pages end without consensus, the normal result is the content being kept.
So, what is the verdict? RTBLLC (talk) 14:01, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WPZero Score=100% RTBLLC (talk) 15:04, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RTBLLC be patient in your response, admins are all volunteers. Qcne (talk) 15:25, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Appreciate any help here. Thank you. RTBLLC (talk) 18:44, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let's come to a consensus. I still think the block is unnecessary. The content I created could have been requested for changes if it really sounded like promotional content. I think I included all factual content. Similarly username. Easy to remember username. RTBLLC (talk) 09:36, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Gentle Nudge to @Yamla @Acroterion
Thanks to @Qcne @331dot
These threads are haywire. Which thread needs attention? Hmm…
Here is the Gist of the issue for clarity and my promise to Wikipedia:
• I won’t use AI to communicate here( though it was purely used occasionally for as a realtime grammar correction similar to keyboard typing correctors to my long thoughts)
• I won’t use promotional jargon when writing content. (I honestly do not agree with this categorization anyway, just a benefit of doubt so far from my side)
• I will change my username to my last such request. (I realize LLC is the unwanted part in it) RTBLLC (talk) 10:22, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
STOP IT. I have already reviewed one of your unblock requests. A different administrator should review your current open unblock request. Don't ping me (or, frankly, anyone) again about this. --Yamla (talk) 10:27, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there! So, I wasn't sure if you'd get back to me after your last reply, but I'd love to keep talking! No sweat if you're swamped, though.
Just wanted to make sure you saw my last message. Maybe it wasn't super clear, or something got messed up. The main thing is, I really dig your responses and would love to chat more, Speaking of confusion, the whole username block and content deletion thing seems a bit off. One admin said it was the content, not the username itself. That doesn't quite match the original reason I got blocked by the other admin. Maybe I should ping them again to see what's going on?
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for everything so far. I'll keep those thought-provoking ideas coming! RTBLLC (talk) 11:45, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
