If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
![]() | If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- HIDIVE (currently a redirect to Hidive) → Hidive (move · discuss) – MOS:ALLCAPS --GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 03:00, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not seeing sources for the proposed uses. Most seem to call it HIDIVE. — Amakuru (talk) 15:28, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- For MOS:ALLCAPS what sources use doesn't matter. Companies should only use all caps if the name is an acronym or initialism, which doesn't appear to be the case here. Bensci54 (talk) 16:27, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Correct. There's no evidence that Hidive is an acronym or initialism of anything, so it should be in title case regardless of how any source types it out. GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 23:36, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- For MOS:ALLCAPS what sources use doesn't matter. Companies should only use all caps if the name is an acronym or initialism, which doesn't appear to be the case here. Bensci54 (talk) 16:27, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

- Ishq Ki Dastaan - Naagmani (currently a redirect to Ishq Ki Dastaan – Naagmani) → Ishq Ki Dastaan Naagmani (move · discuss) – disambiguation needed 2409:40E0:104E:3EF2:C88B:11FF:FED3:9D9D (talk) 09:07, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Tornelasmias capricorni (currently a redirect to Lamellidea novoseelandica) → Lamellidea novoseelandica (move · discuss) – Current species name, now a redirect to a stub that is also a synonym that I will turn into a redirect after the move awkwafaba (📥) 18:50, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- ABC News (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to ABC News) → ABC News (move · discuss) – WP:MALPLACED. Can't move because "ABC News already exists. DaCrashy (T.C.) 20:57, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- We should probably hold off on taking action here until the ongoing MRV on ABC News has been resolved. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 21:20, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ayoub Khan (British politician) (currently a redirect to Ayoub Khan) → Ayoub Khan (move · discuss) – The British politician is the only person of this name, all other people with similar names are "Ayub Khan". PatGallacher (talk) 00:03, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
Contested technical requests
- Wallace and Gromit → Wallace & Gromit (currently a redirect back to Wallace and Gromit) (move · discuss) – As discussed on the talk page, the franchise is only ever referred to with an ampersand, which matches the titling of other IPs with Wikipedia articles such as Thomas & Friends, Mario & Luigi, etc. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 21:04, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- @SleepDeprivedGinger: This had a 2017 requested move that reached no consensus, leaned toward opposition according to the closer, and provided evidence that it isn't "only ever referred to with an ampersand". As a controversial move, this will require a new requested-move discussion. You should read that 2017 RM and consider whether to open a new RM discussion. SilverLocust 💬 21:25, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- Indonesian archipelago → Indonesian Archipelago (currently a redirect back to Indonesian archipelago) (move · discuss) – Correct the capitalization in the title Bayoka55 (talk) 07:11, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- This is not always a proper noun. Even in the article, both capitalizations are used. You'll have to start a WP:RM for this. C F A 💬 17:30, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
