Programming
KBMY and KMCY signed on in 1986, bringing the full ABC schedule to western North Dakota and eastern Montana for the first time ever. Before 1986, portions of ABC programming were carried on KX Television and Meyer Television. Prior to K44HR's inception, cable television subscribers in the Williston area received Denver's KMGH-TV on cable for ABC programming. Dickinson also received KMGH, especially as they were in Mountain Time Zone, until K42FY signed on.
The stations do not produce much local content. KMCY largely simulcasts KBMY, aside from local commercials. The Dickinson station directly repeats KBMY, while the Williston station repeats KMCY.
A 30-minute morning show, "Good Morning West Dakota," is produced by Bismarck radio station KBMR and aired on all four stations. It is the only local newscast on ABC West, and there are no local cut-ins during Good Morning America.
