The combination of an ice storm and the upcoming holidays will somewhat limit my Internet access for a while.

Please don't delete my page

You requested that my page "Chiral lewis acid" be deleted. I'm designing a wikipedia page for a graduate level physical organic chemistry project and the topic I've (regretfully) been assigned is chiral lewis acids in asymmetric synthesis. It's my first time using wikipedia and I'm on a tight deadline so please show a little mercy. It'll be on it's way to being a good page in a matter of minutes.

Thanks, Mike

Happy Holidays!

Catskill Escarpment

Re this: I'm flattered. And I might just do it although I usually think peer review is a good step before GA. Daniel Case (talk) 16:54, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I should list it on PR first, after I get rid of the redlinks (I put Jacobson v. United States, Anna Wintour and The Devil Wears Prada through PR first before their GA noms (which in the latter two instances were made by other people). I had thought you could only have one on PR at a time; it turns out you're only limited to one a day.

My philosophy is that I only start an article on the recognition path once it has reached the extent to which I wish to develop it; that's why I have a lot of B-classes to my credit but not as many GAs or FAs (and Mitch is really responsible for nomming the two that I do share credit for). Daniel Case (talk) 00:50, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We never lost power. We are just far south enough that the ice had all melted when the temperature warmed up this morning. It never got worse than freezing rain yesterday evening. All we had was a lot of rain ... the Wallkill looks almost as bad as it did here.

Have you at least taken some pictures for this article? Daniel Case (talk) 03:31, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neat! I went out to the Hudson Highlands along US 9W (the section shown in this picture, actually). It was the only area in Orange County, at least eastern Orange County, that got iced up. Everybody was taking pictures of this suddenly crystal forest, and all the sun glinting off and reflecting everything. (And it was a huge natural freezer ... standing on the west side of the road, it must have been 40 degrees colder than ambient, not even taking the gentle breeze into account. It honestly felt like -20 there, not 20, and having experienced the former I think I know what I'm talking about). Perhaps I shall upload one or two of them. Daniel Case (talk) 16:57, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merry christmas.

Hey-yo

Could you give me some feedback at this? —Ceran [ speak ] 23:56, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Hurricane Karl (1998)

Updated DYK query On 13 December, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Hurricane Karl (1998), which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

But wouldn't putting this template on his page make you think about the game? So there for... you lose too. :P RockManQReview me 21:04, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Listen...

JC, I'm really sorry I said what I did on IRC. I had no idea, and I should of been more careful of what I said. I meant it only as a joke, but I can see how it would offend/make you really sad. Once again, I'm super sorry, I had no idea, and I'll be more careful of what I say in the future. RockManQReview me 04:08, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Striking, because you are not an orphan, which I knew all along (but didn't) :P RockManQ(talk) 04:24, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fail. ayematthew 15:08, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I'm not Jewish. But I could still use a present ;)... —Ceran [ speak ] 14:50, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on another FA!

Congratulations! No thanks to me, admittedly, but I recognise and appreciate all the work you do on Wikipedia. Geometry guy 19:31, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats JC! The little article made it to FA :D Cyclonebiskit (talk) 19:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats on finally getting Erick to FA! I hear that 2006 Pacific hurricane season just got promoted as well; I'm off to congratulate Hink for that. Good luck with 1994 Atlantic hurricane season! Oh, and I think I'm done with the fixes to Timeline of the 2001 Atlantic hurricane season; leave comments here, don't forget. --Dylan620 Contribs Sign! 19:37, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
