== Present day ==

How is it possible to consider a 1988 (Herman José case) as a "Present day" example.
The last part of the article that refers the current situation of Portugal freedom of speech and censorship is incomplete and does not reflect the reality of the country, gives a negative image that does not match reality. two good examples not mentioned were the law suits involving Alberto João Jardim and the local Madeira press and José Socrates and the country's press that clearly showed the nonexistence of censorship in Portugal.
Compared to other countries Portugal doesn't have too many cases where someone claims to be silenced by some form of censorship.

Find correct name The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere. The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.

  • Category:History of Portugal: lots to remove there
  • Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

Portuguese Timor

User Merbabu is trying to erase the infobox included on the article Portuguese Timor. This kind of infobox exists in many other articles in Wikipedia. He is just trying to impose his own view in the article. Is there some action that can be done against it? Emerson

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

The first theatre and the first actors

Hello! I am interested in theatre history, and I hope some one can answer my question. I wonder: which was the first theatre, with proffesional actors of both genders, in Portugal? I am also interested in the first known actor and actress, or the most famous actor and actress, of that theatre's early years. I have heard that the acting proffesion was barred for women in Portugal in the 18th-century. If so, when was it lifted? I hope someone can answer my question. I would be gratefull if You could answer on my talk page. Regards--Aciram (talk) 09:49, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Portuguese international artists

In the english version of the Carmen Miranda biography on wikipedia, an article that is considered as of high-importance to this wikiportugal-project, she is refered as portuguese-born brazilian. Since she never had brazilian citizenship and was in fact portuguese i belive that expression is wrong. Besides this issue i think that using portuguese-born expression tries to diminish the connection of her nationality to Portugal. Since she is only portuguese she should be refered as portuguese and not brazilian. Note that this is a reference to her nationality/citizenship and does not put at stake her importance to the brazilian music culture. since an artist may be from one nationality and be of great importance also to other country. One thing doesn't erase the other. 81.84.168.59 (talk) 03:37, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there a need to specify that the English-language version states she is Brazilian when the Portuguese-language version says the same thing?98.71.198.236 (talk) 07:08, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

English translation of Nelly Furtado's biography in wikipedia

states she is Canadian ... The editor refuses to state she is portuguese-canadian and sticks to call her simple canadian.

The Portuguese-language version says the same thing. What is the problem?98.71.198.236 (talk) 07:08, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colonial Act

The entry on the 1930 Colonial Act uses emotive language that is not really suitable for use in an encyclopaedia. As such, it is highly subjective and could be dismissed as being biased. Lusobrandane (talk) 13:53, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
