Encantadia: The Second Saga, is the fourth installment of the popular Encantadia television franchise and was recorded as the first book of the Second Saga. It depicts the story after the death of Arman and Armea in the timeline where Cassandra is still reigning as the queen of Lireo, near to her death.

New characters

• Althea - the daughter of Armea and the young Queen of Sapiro.
• Athos - Father of Althea and the king of Sapiro.
• Cielo - The older and grumpy prince of Lireo. He uses his bow and arrow to fight on war. He is also bankable for the responsibilities.
• Jovan - The younger and meek prince of Lireo. He is known for his sword skills.
• Lucia - the daughter of Danaya and Aquil. She was said to be in the woods and was taken by Helena so that the prophecy will come true.
• Ashenti - the twin sister of Helena. She was taken by a dama and was brought to the world of mortals to take revenge. She was used to be the next Queen after Cassandra.
• Angela - Daughter of Muros.
• Flamarian - The sixth kind of Encantadian and was created by Emre to end the power of the four gems.
  • Helena - Helena is originally a Sanggre until Emre blessed her to be a new of her kind as a Flamarian. She was gifted by Pirena to use fire on her skills and to be protected on the woods.
  • Pyr - the second Flamarian appeared in the franchise. He is the father of Mira. Helena resurrected him having the fire gem and blessed him as a legitimate Flamarian.
  • Ignis - the third Flamarian appeared in the franchise. He was supposedly the son of Agane and Hagorn but was aborted by the first because of the fear her son would be controlled by Hagorn.
  • Naar or Narcissus - the fourth Flamarian. He was the gift of Emre to Helena. He was given to teach the diwatas to live without the four gems since they had depended on it for a long time. He will try to attract the princess of Sapiro and be the king of the monarch.

Plot

The Prophecy

Years after the Dark Ages, engkantados became dependent on the four gems which led to the anger of Emre. To teach them a lesson, he sent Amihan to Encantadia to warn them about a prophecy on the passing of throne to Althea in Sapiro:

Sa pagsalubong sa unang hari ng kahariang silangan, muling magbubuklod ang apat na brilyante ngunit darating ang kawalan upang bawiin ang gilas nito at magdadala ng sakuna sa lupa ng hiwaga. (trans: In the proclamation of the East Kingdom's first king, the four gems will unite once again but darkness will take away its sharpness and will bring tragedy in the land of mystery.)

The present queen, Cassandra had already two sons and no daughter during that time which made the kingdom be feared because there would be no Sanggre to be the next in line of the diwata race. Emre gave her a chance to repent their mistakes. The next child from her womb will be offered to him and the next child should be the Queen of Lireo. She announced the good news to the whole kingdom. Unknowingly, her Dama, Nessa had a hatred on the kingdom of Lireo. On the night Queen Cassandra gave birth, Nessa was the only one on her side. When the destined offering came out from the womb of Cassandra, Nessa took it away and went to the world of mortals to live there. Unknowingly, Cassandra will gave birth into female twins, the queen died on the birth of the second baby. Imaw offered the baby to Emre which they thought will solve the curse.

Pirena blessed the child fire to pass on and balance the world of Encantadia. Since the baby shouldn't be the offering, Emre have decided to continue the prophecy. With his power, the twins grew up. Emre blessed the baby with intelligence and was sent to Encantadia to bring the biggest tragedy on Encantadia. Helena returned to Encantadia and stole the gem of fire. Emre asked her to build a nation soon. Helena became interested on the whole Encantadia. On the other hand, the fall of Lireo was predicted by Lucia, the daughter of Danaya who was already thought to be dead.

Emre struck a strand of his hair and from there, he created the second Flamarian, Naar who was destined to be the husband of Helena. Naar went to Sapiro and fell in love with its Queen Althea changing his name to Narcissus. Helena prevented Lucia to warn the diwatas by cursing her to lose her memories. In Lireo, the two princes were fighting for the throne, Cielo and Jovan. Imaw assigned the advisers of the late Cassandra to take over the throne until one of the prince had a daughter on the right age but all of the throne's guardian died because of an illness. The kingdom had decided that it is already time to have a king on the Lirean empire. In the proclamation of the first Lirean King, the powers of the gem disappeared and led to the rise of the sixth kingdom established on Encantadia.
