:I added a brief sentence about the 2008 estimate, as it matches the infobox information. I'm actually looking to expand the intro a bit more; given the article's size, I think we could go with four paragraphs instead of the current three. I was thinking of adding a short history-themed paragraph or something like that, along with some other slight additions to things like geography, if anyone wants to help with that. Wondering how to edit this State Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. states standards might help.

License plate and other things?

Consider finding and then putting an image of a license plate in the article. Could be done under state symbols or the text where it says that the number indicates the county. Just a suggestion, not a big point. Chergles (talk) 16:25, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't any mention of manufacturing. On the other hand, articles don't say "Rwanda doesn't make cars, boats, or computers". Chergles (talk) 16:26, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(Sorry for the late reply) On the license plate, although I vaguely remember seeing one on Wikipedia when I first started edited a couple years ago, I can't find it anymore (I checked Commons as well, without luck). If someone is able to find or upload an image, I wouldn't at all be opposed to adding it to the symbols section.
On the missing manufacturing information, I'm somewhat unsure of how to handle it...I can think of a couple somewhat important east river companies like Raven and Daktronics, but even these are a bit limited in economic impact as far as the state's economy on the whole; they could certainly be mentioned on an Economy of South Dakota article, or on articles for the associated cities, but these might be a bit too limited in scope to mention here. General manufacturing statistics could, on the other hand, certainly be added, if someone is able to dig them up. I think you touched on a key point in your Rwanda example - there just has never really been much of a manufacturing sector in the state. AlexiusHoratius 09:20, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Intro

Why no population in the intro? Virtually every area in the country, whether townships or states, has either the 2000 census population or a more recent estimated population in the intro, or both. I would add it, but I'm hesitant to work with a GA-class article that I don't really know. Nyttend (talk) 15:52, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added a brief sentence about the 2008 estimate, as it matches the infobox information. I'm actually looking to expand the intro a bit more; given the article's size, I think we could go with four paragraphs instead of the current three.
