Also note: It is my policy not to delete or remove dialog from this page. Everything (except some spam) will be saved and archived. Please don't later remove from here what you've written. So think first before you hit Save page.
If I do not reply to you immediately, it is not because I am ignoring you; I might be in the middle of a project on or offline :)
If and when we disagree, it is never personal. I respect you.
If you're thinking about retiring, *please* talk to me first either here, IRC or email, so I can dissuade you and help solve what's needling you.
Lastly, a note to banned users who stop by: Stop editing immediately, serve your sentence, and then come back and play nice. I will gladly welcome you back and collaborate with you - once you've served your time properly, and as long as you act accordingly.

Infamously

Hey, just letting you know that you removed "infamously" from a quote ([[1]]), in case you've done it one other articles and not noticed. Good job by the way, I sometimes go around removing the word "tragically" from articles!--BelovedFreak 15:39, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've been trying to pay close attention to not remove them from quotes or from descriptions of fictions. Thanks for catching it. Kingturtle (talk) 15:43, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re; Heya

Thanks for that - yeah I'm back, though not at anywhere near the level of participation in WP as before. Concentrating on trying to improve a series of sports articles and that's about it (keeping largely out of the admin side of things). Cheers, Grutness...wha? 05:10, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My username change

Thank you for implementing my request for username change. I have changed the appearance of my signature, which failed to happen automatically - I do not know if it should have done so, but suspect not. No problem. But I have lost all of my contributions history. Is it recoverable? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:16, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because of the amount of contributions you have, this may take some time. Give it a few hours; even a day or so. It really depends on how busy some of the servers are that are used for this. If nothing comes of it in 48 hours, let me know. Kingturtle (talk) 17:20, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thank you. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:25, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya KT

I was surprised that I hadn't seen the "too many tiers" argument yet at WT:RFA and WT:Vandal fighters‎‎; thanks for bringing it up. What's interesting is that no one perceives the clerking experiment at UAA yet as introducing bureaucracy, and I'm hoping to find out why as time goes on. It might have something to do with the meek name and the limited role. But if you do see it that way, please feel free to weigh in over there as well. Goak

Hi not sure how this works but thought i would explain what a goak is and why i think it should be included on wikipedia. Goaks have become a term used by online fans of afc wimbledon who listen to home and away matches at a virtual stadium called iplough lane. All matches have a live commentary and also a chat facility for fans to talk to each other while listening to the match. another feature of the stadium is a written commentary posted on the site for people who cannot recieve the live audio commentary. Several years ago during a tense game AFC Wimbledon scored and in his haste the commentator updated the score with GOAK instead of GOAL. After much mickey taking the fans have adopted GOAK when urging the team on ie "come on we need a Goak !!!". As the number of fans who are new to these commentaries (both home and away supporters are allowed to join in) is growing , the question "What is a goak?" is being asked more and more. Now not knowing how wiki works could you please tell me how i can get Goak included, or why it would not be allowed. Many thanksWayneindevon (talk) 07:52, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's very entertaining. But it isn't worthy of an article in an encyclopedia. Have you tried submitting it to The Urban Dictionary, The Online Slang Dictionary or Slang Site? Kingturtle (talk) 13:34, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RE: GOAK

Sorry to be a pain but thought i would put a link in so you can see for yourself. The comment by VIC ",Stards obviously refers to wikis decision not to include Goak

Promotional

Hi,

Confused as to why our Wet Personal Lubricants page was deleted as it was no different then the KY or Astroglide pages. We referenced national health studies that had been published, using articles from outlets like BusinessWeek and LA Times referencing not just Wet but several different lubricant brands...how was this promotional when we hyperlinked to six different lubricants? The beginning was stating who and when Trigg was founded, and the Pop Culture References are no different then the pop culture trivia other pages mention. Please explain. JS2NY (talk) 21:08, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is deemed promotional because you represent the company. Your virtually using Wikipedia as a place of free advertisement. Blatant examples of advertising masquerading as articles can be speedily deleted. Your contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote the interests of a business you represent. Read WP:COI. Sorry, but that's how it works around here.
You appear to be a capable editor though. I encourage you to work on some articles around here that aren't associated with your industry. Kingturtle (talk) 13:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional: Software Process Achievement Award

Good morning,

Due to the lack of a Software Process Achievement Award (which is an important software award in the IT world) article on WP, I created it using the official text from the IEEE Computer Society and SPA websites. I referenced all the sources, and also referenced the press release of the award being received by PSL company.

If that is what is causing the conflict of interest, perhaps you could just remove that particular reference and not the whole article which is not against the WP:COIN terms as is written with a neutral point of view.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration regarding this matter.

All the best,

Garisti (talk) 17:30, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Garisti, in good faith, I am restoring the article. However, I cannot guarantee that the article will survive the scrutiny of others. Kingturtle (talk) 18:01, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kingturtle , thank you for your help regarding this issue. I removed all references that could lead to think it was an infringement of the WP:COI terms. Thanks again, and all the best.

Promotional

Hi there,

Can you please explain to me why our page keeps getting deleted? What about it is promotional?

Thank You

Adam, it is promotional because it is being created by someone affiliated with the organization. You're welcome to create articles that have nothing to do with your industry, but writing an article about your own organization is not allowed. Read WP:COI. Bio I added on Mel Brennan

Why did you remove the page? I created it because of a dead link from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA in the section on Criticism OglethorpesFriend (talk) 19:21, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, it looked as thought it was written by Mel Brennan, or someone close to him. Is that the case? Kingturtle (talk) 19:26, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it was copied from the TED website, but it looks like their terms of service allow re-use of the text. It's a bit murky; I was debating whether to delete it as a copyvio myself. But you're right, Brennan probably did write the blurb. —C.Fred (talk) 19:34, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Any word on OglethorpesFriend's status? Kingturtle (talk) 19:36, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

EXCUSE ME!

Hello, listen, how is a plane crash in which someone lost their life nonnotable? I mean, most of the local news stations are covering it, and it happened in my own town. I heard the sirens, i heard the scanners, i know it happened. Bring it back, i mean, come on! Do reaserch and make it better, i dont give a crap! I even named this account in memory of it. Oldforgecrash, OUT! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oldforgecrash (talkcontribs) 19:50, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The sad truth is that most plane crashes and most human deaths are not notable on an encyclopedic level? What makes this crash or death notable? Kingturtle (talk) 19:54, 18 August 2010 (U
