::The Epoch article cites the cancer source as UK Anime News Network. "Satoshi Kon, a highly acclaimed Japanese anime director, died suddenly of cancer on Monday evening, said UK Anime Network News." There is no such claim at UK Anime News Network, other than the report of his death. I don't know where they're getting cancer from. We should avoid jumping to conclusions until there is a source for his cause of death. All that's known is that his death was announced on August 23. Didn't create Paprika

The article says that Satoshi Kon "only takes on projects that he himself creates", but Paprika is based on a novel with the same name written by Tsutsui Yasutaka. Anyone mind if I take out that sentence? --72.43.103.251 18:17, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and removed it since it wasn't exactly true and not cited.Harlock jds 19:30, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Death?

The only information we have from a semi-reputable source confirming Kon's death is based on information taken from Twitter. I don't think this is verifiable, and thus I move that it be removed until better information is available. 71.111.148.29 (talk) 19:11, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Staff for the anime convention Otakon posted a message that they confirmed with Madhouse that Kon passed away suddenly. Not sure if this counts as a verifiable source or not: http://board.otakon.com/index.php?showtopic=20122&view=findpost&p=228396 Ndoto (talk) 19:52, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

His death is confirmed by credible sources. The only things lacking are the cause and details of his death. 180.73.16.155 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:53, 24 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]

I just took care of the cause of death. Details still needed. LiteralKa (talk) 03:13, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your sources (epochtimes) claims UK Anime News Network as source for the cause of death being cancer. UK ANN makes no such claim. It's very possible it was Cancer given a sudden death at a young age, but EpochTimes seems to be assuming. DrForester (talk) 04:43, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know people are so excited to update twitter and all, but give it a few days and a public statement will be issued and translated. undated

Seems like Yasuhiro Takeda (of GAINAX, also one of the first sources to tweet of Kon's death) confirmed on his twitter that he died of cancer. http://twitter.com/takedayasuhiro/status/22021241414 180.73.16.155 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:41, 24 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]

I'm removing cause of death until it is confirmed. The source linked in article cites Anime News Network that it was cancer but ANN has made no such claim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.70.98.112 (talk) 03:44, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Check the actual citation, the one from epoch. He died of cancer. LiteralKa (talk) 04:11, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
