Eoin (pronounced like "Owen", or "Ian" in Scotland, and sometimes spelled Eoinn) is an Irish name, cognate with John. In the Irish language, it is the name used for all Biblical figures known as John in English, including John the Baptist and John the Apostle.

It is related to the Scottish name Ian. Although it is pronounced identically to Eoghan by English speakers, the words have different origins, "Eoghan" deriving from the Greek Eugene.

Well-known Eoins (people and places etc., personal names and surnames) include the following:

Political figures

Artists

Fictional characters

Sportsmen

G.A.A.

Gaelic Footballers

Hurlers

Dual Players (Hurler & Gaelic Footballer)
