The North East Surrey College Of Technology (NESCOT) is a large further education and higher education college in Epsom and Ewell, Surrey, England which attracts students from the local community, nationally and overseas.

In 2007 Nescot was inspected by Ofsted who awarded the provision in the college 7 grade 2s. No area of the college has unsatisfactory provision. Nescot makes no secret of its ambition to become a grade 1 college and the staff are committed to enabling learners to succeed.[1]

The CISCO Academy at the college has a regional status, enabling Nescot to train other centres and the college has a national reputation for higher education in Osteopathy, Acoustics and Biological Science. Unusually there are progression routes from pre-entry to HE within the college, so students can remain at Nescot to take their studies forward.

The Curriculum

Nescot departments all offer the opportunity to progress from all levels of study to Higher Education. Our main departments are:

  • Beauty
  • Business, IT and Professional Studies
  • Care and Health Sciences
  • Construction and Building Services
  • Land Based Programmes
  • Entry Level Programmes
  • Media Arts
  • Osteopathy
  • Skills for Life
  • Sport, Travel and Tourism

Location

The College is located in attractive countryside near Epsom and regular trains run from Ewell East, the main line station beside the campus. The line serves London, leatherhead, Dorking, Epsom, and Guildford with easy connections to other areas. Nescot is within easy travelling distance of Heathrow and Gatwick airports and close to the M25, and the A3.

Facilities

As you would expect from a leading college Nescot has specialist practical facilities to help learners to get the most from your studies - and some that might surprise you. A large Construction department is on site with trade specific workshops for Bricklaying, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical Installation and Plastering.

Performance and Media have dance studios, recording facilities, dark rooms and a Mac suite. The College also has 2 theatres, one traditional with tiered seating and a modern performance space.

Other curriculum areas are well supported with a beauty salon, onsite nursery, labs, a farm, horticultural facilities, Student Advice Centre, Learning Resource Centre - and an Osteopathy clinic. The CISCO Academy has a superbly equipped suite of rooms for learners.

There is a sports centre with gym which is open to the public and extensive playing fields. Local legend has it that the College is built on what was the largest field in England!

Subject Strengths

Nescot currently offer a wide range of study options to enable as many people as possible to study. As well as the traditional FE College mix of part-time day, part-time evening, block or full time study, the college offers distance learning, bespoke training programmes for businesses, and other options including Train2Gain.

Nescot's website [1] has further information about the college, its courses and facilities.
