WP:Medicine interview
The Wikipedia Signpost Would like to interview you with regards to WikiProject Medicine. If interested, could you reply on my talkpge? Thanks, Thomas888b (Say Hi) 20:36, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
I don't know exactly how this works...
I was trying to figure out how to leave a message on the Pneumonia page, so I decided to message you. I was wondering if in the complications section, pericarditis should be mentioned as well. I had pneumonia and that was one of my resulting complications (I do have Marfan Syndrome) so I came on here to learn something about it and didn't find anything connecting the two. Thank you for your time. Tanya.

- Yes this has been described. Not really a complication but more of a co infection though from my reading. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:00, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Acute pericarditis may accompany pneumonia, though, as James mentioned, it tends to be more of a coinfection related to decreased immunoefficency. Ronk01 talk 01:41, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Mentoring students: be sure to check in on them
This message is going out to all of the Online Ambassadors who are, or will be, serving as mentors this term.
Hi there! This is just a friendly reminder to check in on what your mentees are doing. If they've started making edits, take a look and help them out or do some example fixes for them, if they need it. And if they are doing good, let them know it!
If you aren't mentoring anyone yet, it looks like you will be soon; at least one large class is asking us to assign mentors for them, and students in a number of others haven't yet gotten to asking ambassadors to be their mentors, but may soon. --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:06, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

groups of students in need of mentors
Hey James. One of the classes working with the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, Jonathan Obar's Media and Telecommunication Policy, is working in small groups and would like us to assign a mentor to each group (rather than having students request the mentors they'd like, as other classes are doing).
I invite you to sign on as the mentor for one or more groups, especially if any of the topics catch your interest. To sign up, go to the course page and add yourself as "Mentor: you" in the section for that group. They students and/or professor or campus ambassadors should be cleaning things up soon to list all the usernames for each group and add a few more groups. Once you know who the students are in the group, you can leave them each a quick introduction to let them know you'll be mentoring their group.
Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 19:09, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
thank you
I lost the source of what I was going to change and I messed up with the text that was already there, I will correct it when I find again the right sources. Thank you for correcting it back. 190.31.195.73 (talk) 13:46, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Can you review the Medical Amnesty Page I have recently been editing and adding to? Emrynes (talk) 04:25, 24 February 2011 (UTC) Elizabeth
Wind turbines, health effects
Your link was left as a reference for health effects of wind turbines. Do you have any information? Briconer (talk) 17:50, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- To what do you refer? Please provide a link... Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:44, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
There is numerous websites talking of the noise effects, having it constant, causing sleep depravation, headaches, and nausea, even eventual long term effects with hearing. There are also many claims of the flicker effect pertaining to headaches, even seizures in extreme cases (which I do have a family member that suffers from epilepsy).
