About:

Oyster is an Australian style magazine, set up in 1994 and published bi-monthly. The magazine features fashion, music, film and art features, as well as exclusive international fashion editorial. Oyster showcases the work of leading photographers and young up-and-coming talent from around the world, and is renowned for its avant-garde approach to style.

As of early 2009, creative direction of the magazine was taken over by Shane Sakkeus, the co-creator of PETIT MAL! magazine.

Issue 87: Super Power

Oyster's June/July issue promises to "take you on a journey through the land of red, white and blue, themed around the idea of the Super Power."

It includes Sean Lennon interviewing his girlfriend (the cover star) Charlotte Kemp Muhl. It also features interviews with Alison Mosshart of supergroup The Dead Weather, British/French design duo Meadham Kirchhoff and Canadian director/writer/actor Xavier Dolan.

Issue 84: Utopia (October/November 2009) features cover shot by Petrovsky & Ramone and styled by Venus Waterman. It features interviews with Brit model Lily Cole, fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg and couturier Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Issue 83: The Outsiders (August/September 2009) features interviews with actress Leelee Sobieski, designer Dries van Noten, photographer Mark Borthwick, designer Phillip Lim and actor Emile Hirsh.

Issue 82: Luminary (June/July 2009) features front cover shot by Petrovsky & Ramone and styled by Venus Waterman. Inside features Karl Lagerfeld, Kelis, Sonia Rykiel, Sam Rockwell and Karen Walker.

Issue 81: Realise (April/May 2009) features Actress Julianne Moore, milliner Philip Treacy, Mr Agent Provocateur Joseph Corré, Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and London based fashion label Eley Kishimoto.

Issue 80: Distortion (February/March 2009) features model Alice Dellal on the cover shot by Marissa Kaiser and styled by Anna Shimonis. Inside features Grace Jones, Michel Gondry, Animal Collective and Marios Schwab.

Issue 79: The Music Issue (December 2008/January 2009) features cover shot by Jonas Bresnan and styled by Georgia Ashdown. Inside is Alber Elbaz, Peaches, Gang Gang Dance, Gaspard Yurkievick and VV Brown.
