NHTV prepares for practical management-level positions in an international setting. NHTV works together with many education institutions all over the world. As a result, there are many opportunities for intensive student and lecturer exchanges. Due in part to the joint research programmes, student conferences and summer courses, the international character of the programmes is strengthened. Furthermore, NHTV encourages work placements abroad or at internationally oriented companies.

==Controversy==

NHTV is known for not mentioning that they are not an Academic University to international students and presenting their degrees as Academic Degrees when this is not the case. The NHTV education can sometimes be below standards with teachers that can barely speak English. The resources they offer to students are lacking, such as their lack of materials within their small library as well as a lack of access to online learning resources. The courses offered generally lack structure and consistency. NHTV also seems to lack any consistent grading systems and most grades are given back without explanations or any kind of grading scale
