Silver Side Up is the third studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on September 11, 2001. It was the band's breakthrough album and, according to Allmusic, continued Nickelback's tradition of "dark high-octane rock" from the band's first two albums.[2] It reached #1 in Canada,[6] Austria,[7] Ireland,[8] New Zealand[9] and the United Kingdom.[10] The album was certified 8× Platinum in Canada,[11] 6× Platinum in the US[12] and 3× Platinum in the UK.[13]

Singles

The singles released from Silver Side Up were "How You Remind Me", "Too Bad" and "Never Again" – the most successful being "How You Remind Me", which reached #1 in the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts.[14] Nickelback was named #1 Most Played Rock Artist of 2002 Across All Radio Formats. Despite never being released as a single, "Woke Up This Morning" was played frequently during the All the Right Reasons Tour and on the radio.

Reception

Silver Side Up has sold 5,666,000 copies in the U.S. up to December 22, 2010.[15] According to IFPI, over 2,000,000 copies of the album were sold in Europe.

It was ranked #47 on Billboard's 200 Albums of the Decade.[16]
