The '''Brigade Modernization Command''' is the new name for the Future Force Integration Directorate, under The [[U.S. Army's]] [[Training and Doctrine Command]] and the Army Capabilities Integration Center. The change reflects the Army’s commitment to its Incremental Brigade Modernization strategy and its effort to make BMC and the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division the centerpiece of integrated network evaluations at Fort Bliss and White Sands Missile Range. BMC conducts the integration and evaluations of the network, capability packages and other capabilities to provide Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities recommendations to the Army. They get capability solutions into the hands of Soldiers faster than traditional channels, supported by engineers and combat, training, and material developers early on.

The Army attached 2/1 AD to the BMC, assigning it the evaluation mission. It is an HBCT tasked organized and equipped to replicate heavy, light and Stryker formations. 2/1 AD evaluates all network capability solution candidates and other Army Modernization capability candidates in a full spectrum operational environment at FBTX/WSMR. This unique Army mission supports adaptive evaluation of capability candidates, unit organizational design and operational concepts. The brigade provides immediate feedback that permits TRADOC to assess modernization concepts, identify implications, and enables the Army Test and Evaluation Command to assess the technical performance of materiel technologies. ATEC and PEO-I are integrating people and resources into the Army Modernization effort at FBTX and WSMR.

The Army will retain the Army Evaluation Task Force (AETF), now a full operational brigade, with the mission of validating the operational relevancy of solutions and developing doctrine prior to fielding to deploying forces to ensure a proven capability reaches the hands of the Soldier. Using AETF Soldiers, the Army will conduct integrated BCT network integration exercises in 2011 and 2012 as a means to inform the Army’s long-term network strategy while defining how to devote resources and focus priorities for continued network development cycle.

Brigade Modernization Command

The Brigade Modernization Command is the new name for the Future Force Integration Directorate, under The U.S. Army's Training and Doctrine Command and the Army Capabilities Integration Center.

Network Integration Evaluation

During the Network Integration Evaluation scheduled for June 6, 2011 through July 15, 2011 at White Sands Missile Range, the BMC/ATEC/PEO-I Triad will assess network and non-network capabilities, including Theater Provided Equipment, and developing and emerging network capabilities, and determine the implications of these capabilities across DOTMLPF. We will measure success and inform the Army based on what we learn when we put the capabilities in the hands of Soldiers in the field.

2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division

The Army will retain the Army Evaluation Task Force (AETF), now a full operational brigade, with the mission of validating the operational relevancy of solutions and developing doctrine prior to fielding to deploying forces to ensure a proven capability reaches the hands of the Soldier. Using AETF Soldiers, the Army will conduct integrated BCT network integration exercises in 2011 and 2012 as a means to inform the Army’s long-term network strategy while defining how to devote resources and focus priorities for continued network development cycle.

The U.S. Army attached 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division to the BMC, assigning it the evaluation mission. It is an HBCT tasked organized and equipped to replicate heavy, light and Stryker formations. 2/1 AD evaluates all network capability solution candidates and other Army Modernization capability candidates in a full spectrum operational environment at Fort Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range. ATEC and PEO Integration are integrating people and resources into the Army Modernization effort.

Integrated Evaluation Concept

The integrated evaluation concept, which supports incremental network modernization strategy, is a win-win situation for the Army. The Triad wants to evaluate everything that touches the network before it goes to theater. This concept: o Gets capability solution candidates evaluated more rapidly o Includes semi-annual evaluations that leverage changing technology & threat impacts o Identifies what capabilities are value-added to the network o Designed for less overhead through sharing, less bureaucratic, and progressively less expensive evaluations o Includes COE DOTMLPF collaboration and SME support

This incremental modernization process ensures the Army buys what is required and field to those who need it. System and capability integration starts on the front end of the process vice the backend as previously done. The Army’s network priority is to first build the infrastructure and standards as the foundation to support networked organizations and to set conditions for accelerating fielding of advanced capabilities to all brigade formations to ensure our Army retains its technological edge now and in the future.
