Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Melvin Van Peebles, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Time Out (check to confirm&nbsp;|&nbsp;fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. <small>Read the FAQ Join us at the DPL WikiProject.</small>

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:35, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Japanese Emigrant Parsing Terms
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, :Japanese Emigrant Parsing Terms. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - :Japanese_diaspora#Terminology. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at :Japanese_diaspora#Terminology - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. JFHJr (㊟) 03:29, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Revision as of 09:47, 21 February 2012

Welcome!

Sorry, I didn't realize they were taken at two different conventions two years apart. The fact that they were both taken at Comic-Con, and the similar hairstyle in both, caused me to act instinctively. Looking more closely at it, I see, in addition to the different years indicated in the captions, that the very top of her blouse in the 2009 pic is different, and she's wearing different earrings. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 15:33, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removed categories

If your comment was addressed at Nightscream, it's more likely he'll see it if you post it on his talk page. Just for the record, what he was removing was categories I had added to those pages, which I don't think you can add [citation needed] tags to, since they don't appear on the spot on the page. Talkback

Hello, Bouket. You have new messages at 88.111.6.83's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

You are not helping

You really should become much more informed on policies before jumping into issues. Please see User talk:Aditya Kabir. Toddst1 (talk) 19:57, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Geez, AGF much? Toddst1 (talk) 20:37, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Warning: Hounding Beyond My Ken

If you continue to WP:HOUND the editor Beyond My Ken (talk · contribs), you may be blocked from editing.

Wikihounding is the singling out of one or more editors, and joining discussions on multiple pages or topics they may edit or multiple debates where they contribute, in order to repeatedly confront or inhibit their work. This is with an apparent aim of creating irritation, annoyance or distress to the other editor. Wikihounding usually involves following the target from place to place on Wikipedia.

The important component of wikihounding is disruption to another user's own enjoyment of editing, or to the project generally, for no overriding reason. If "following another user around" is accompanied by tendentiousness, personal attacks, or other disruptive behavior, it may become a very serious matter and could result in blocks and other editing restrictions. Toddst1 (talk) 21:02, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 • Bouket, I agree. Please stay clear of ANI threads involving BMK, talk pages where they commented, etc. At the very least there is the appearance that you're following them around. One more thing: Todd had every right to edit his comments, since they were of a clarifying nature and had not yet been responded to. In fact, your undoing their edit is the clearest example of redacting. Please take my advice and don't find any more trouble, since you're skating on thin ice. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 22:54, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

Hello, Bouket. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests.
Message added 01:42, 4 January 2012 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

This is a final, and now formal request for you to stay off my talk page until you have at least familiarised yourself with the advice pages you have been linked to in good faith. I will not be engaging further in this matter - unless of course it is escalated to WP:DR, which in my opinion should not be necessary. Now let's both get back to editing some articles. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:30, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice & comments on sources

I'll start with what I was going to say first, and that is that you do need to bone up on our policies and guidelines on sources and bios, which I've mentioned on the AfD -- WP:VERIFY, WP:RS and WP:BLP. You also need to be sure you follow our citation guidelines - WP:CITE is the main guideline for that. This is just part of the learning curve here and not really a criticism of you.

Now the advice -- or informal warning perhaps. You've been told to avoid talk pages where BYK is commenting, and you weren't involved in this article before he was. So speaking as an experienced editor and Administrator, ignoring that advice, plus your help desk question, really don't look very good at all. Is it really worth the possibility of being blocked to continue what looks like a feud with BYK? Please withdraw from this engagement with him over Self-reference. I really do not want to have take you to ANI. Dougweller (talk) 10:15, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
