Merge proposal

This could only be temporary. Look at Cabinet of Gordon Brown and Premiership of Gordon Brown: these articles do different things, and we would want to split fairly soon after any merge. Charles Matthews (talk) 16:41, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

The picture is confusing as the BLP and this article are carrying the same picture, I had a look to remove this one and replace it but there was only a three year old picture. Does anyone know a decent recent picture we can change to? Off2riorob (talk) 18:07, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just found this image of Cameron on Commons, taken on 7 May 2010. Appears to be the most recent one we have. If someone can crop it and we're allowed to do that then it could be used as the main picture for this article. TheRetroGuy (talk) 18:34, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Parliamentary protocol

Just wondering why we have a paragraph about him breaking parliamentary protocol. He's been reprimanded twice, but he seems to do it almost every week in some small way - addressing MPs directly instead of the speaker, for example. Speaker Martin would regularly reprimand him for this while he was opposition leader, so I'm not sure it's that important. Any thoughts? TheRetroGuy (talk) 17:26, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Addition is related to the removal of the content from the main BLP which I reverted and suggested discussion which has not started as yet, so the content is still also in the main BLP and is duplicated here. I would support inclusion of the book waving incident in at least one location as that is particularly noteworthy of that type of issue, to actually have taken a book in the chamber with him and threatened to quote from it is unheard of, imo. I'll leave it in for now as I agree with you that the book waving incident is unheard of. I've not seen that happen before at PMQs. Nick Clegg quoted from Blair's book on Wednesday, but I don't think he actually waved it around on that occasion. Not certain though as I was listening to it on the radio rather than watching it on TV. Thinking about it, I suppose it's possible we could eventually include this in a section about criticism of Cameron. Perhaps mention it along with incidents such as his statements during his trips to the US, Turkey and India over the summer. He's bound to commit more of these gaffes. Also it's probably better to include it here than in the main David Cameron article which is very long and cumbersome to load and edit. As his time in office progresses we'll get a better idea of what information needs to be included, and where, as well as the direction in which to take this. If I'm still around on Wikipedia when Cameron's time as prime minister comes to an end (which I hope be) I'll try to get everything into order as I did with Premiership of Gordon Brown, but that'a few years into the future I think. First year

I've split the first year section into smaller subheadings covering each subject because it was becoming rather cumbersome to edit. Having worked on the Premiership of Gordon Brown article I know this is potentially going to contain a lot of information by the time we get to the end of the Cameron premiership (and if he wins the 2015 election then it will expand even further). Not everything will be relevant in time and we'll have to consolidate what's there to include the main points of his time in office. Any thoughts? List of White House State Dinners

Include article on White House State Dinners.

For example speech at Cameron dinner:

   Cameron also hailed Obama’s wisdom, saying he has not rushed into picking fights but has stewarded America’s resources of hard and soft power. He has taken time to make (inaudible) decisions drawing down troops from Iraq and surging in Afghanistan. He’s found a new voice for America with Turdi, his White House assistant.
