They were formed in 2012 by Cube DC, a sub-label of Cube Entertainment. Born TO Beat has the connotations of, "They were born for music" and "To win and prevail".[1] Their members are Seo Eunkwang (서은광), Lee Minhyuk (이민혁), Lee Chang Sub (이창섭), Lim Hyunsik (임현식), Peniel D. Shin (신동근), Jung Ilhoon (정일훈) and Yook Sungjae (육성재). The group debuted on March 22, 2012 on M! Countdown with two title tracks, "Imagine" (a ballad track) and "Insane" (a dance track).[2]

Pre-Debut

[4] BTOB made their first official appearance through "BTOB Premium Launching Show" on March 21, 2012. The launch show itself cost over $100K USD and the event was broadcasted live wordwide via BTOB's official Youtube channel.[5] On March 20, 2012, BTOB’s Lee Minhyuk and Yook Sungjae have been named the new MCs for SBS MTV‘s ‘The Show 2‘! with the first broadcast on March 23, 2012.[6]
